We have it at the moment has it that the former governor of Kano State, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau has been appointed the new Minister for Education by President Goodluck Jonathan.
Shekarau will be taking over from Barr. Nyesom Wike who has been temporary occupying the position left vacant by

the former minister, Prof. Ruqayyatu Rufai after she was relieved of her duty last year.
The two time governor of Kano state (2003 & 2007) had contested the position of presidency in 2011.
