their frustration and that of their country on
someone else's parent instead of theirs and
themselves...
*I come from a country that sees politicians as
saints when they belong to a particular political
party and as devils when they belong. to.another.and vice versa...
*I come from a country where security is only for
the 'haves'...
*I come from a country where old citizens who
have less than a decade to live congregate to
discuss the future of the country they had 'raped'
while in their productive years...
*I come from a country that politics has become
they ready-made job of a young professional
after graduation...
*I come from a country where its citizens cannot
change light bulbs in their homes only waiting for
government to do it for them...
*I come from a country where the girlchild is a
commodity for sale...
*I come from a country where if a newspaper
does not a carry a headline about the next
election, it is not worth buying...
*I come from a country where five (5) years
training from their university is deemed
inadequate for employment...
*I come from a country where politics has
beclouded our sense of reasoning and
judgement...
*I come from a country where citizens and
leaders alike believe stealing is not corruption...
*I come from a country where corrupt politicians
become saints preaching 'service to humanity'
only when they are out of office...
*I come from a country where whatever goes
wrong inside bedrooms with legal couples is
blamed on the government...
*I come from a country where i'll-trained foreign
technicians are celebrated as more professional
than homegrown graduates...
*I come from a country where youths believe
greener pastures lay elsewhere outside their
country...
*I come from a country where corrupt public
officials become saints after leaving office,
preaching and delivering 'good governance'
lectures to whoever cares to listen...
*I come from a country where fathers who were
immediately employed after leaving school are
now asking their children to be 'self-employed'
because they failed to plan for their future...
*I come from a country where the law allows
corrupt public officers to negotiate and return a
portion of whatsoever they stole because it is not
corruption...
*I come from a country where foreigners are
accorded more rights and privileges than its
citizens...
*I come from a country whose people have lost
their identity as africans...
*I come from a country that freedom of speech is
guaranteed, but freedom after speech is luxury
you can't afford...
