counterpart of Nollywood. In the film industry, a bankable star
is an actor famous or charismatic enough to be “capable of
guaranteeing box-office success simply by showing up in a
movie”. Topping the list last year was Funke Akindele…

1. FUNKE AKINDELE: Funke Akindele still remains the number
1 this year, she is unarguably the most successful Yoruba
actress or should I say crossover actress ever in Nollywood.
Funke is one actress fans can’t stop watching, she’s very
versatile and a very good one. Funke has featured in tons of
movie this year that has turned out to be most successful, you
can’t argue with me on this cos she has been very effective
and hardworking despite having marital issues. Every
producers both Yoruba and English are queuing to have the
actress feature in their movie. According to some producers,
Funke’s movies sell like hot cake and they are mostly
successful, have you guys noticed movie posters lately? Funke
is on every movie posters this days no wonder she charges
nothing less 700k per script cos she knows she’s sure to
guarantee box office success and movie producers do testify to
that…

2. ENIOLA BADMUS: Eniola Badmus, AKA gbogbo big girl is the
highest chart entry this year cos she moved up from number 5
last year to number 2 this year. She’s one actress who is doing
so very well for herself, one of the most busiest actresses, she
one of the most successful crossover actresses. Eniola has
been doing so good in the box office, she’s in demand lately,
she’s the most surprising on this list. She has grown
tremendously, she’s one of the most talked about in this
entertainment industry, I heard she charges nothing less than
400k per script. She’s a big influence to all plus size ladies out
there, you can get there if you work hard like she did. Eniola
success has grown to the extent that she has her own radio
show titled “wetin dey” on Wazobia FM. Eniola’s appearance
in a movie guarantees box office success, I guess that’s why
nollywood producers want her in their movie, especially the
English counterpart. We love her so much and we love seeing
her more and more..

3. BUKKY WRIGHT: Bukky still remains on this list but she
moved down one spot from number 2 last year to number 3.
This is one actress who doesn’t take any script cos she’s
expensive and selective, she doesn’t over expose herself but
once she feature in a movie that movie will definitely turned
out to be a successful one, a box office success. I still think
she’s the richest in this list, cos i heard she’s worth multi
millions of naira, her sons school abroad. The mother of two
charges nothing less than 450k per script, she also a
successful crossover actress cos she’s featured in so many
English movies. Bukky Wright still remains the most classiest
of them all and probably the oldest I guess.

4. FATHIA BALOGUN: She’s one of the reason we love
watching Yoruba movies, a very pleasant actress and very
good one. I still wonder how she controls her look and stature.
Fathia Balogun is a successful actress that has turned so
many movies in to success, she’s featured in over 200 movies,
I still think she’s the most used actress in the history of Yoruba
movies. Every movie posters will definitely have Fathia
Balogun on it, even though she dropped one spot on this list,
she was number 3 last year. Every Yoruba movie producers
has worked with Fathia Balogun cos she’s very versatile and
bankable, seeing her face on movie posters makes me watch
the movie, according to some movie producer, I heard she
charges nothing less than 250k.

5. TOYIN AIMAKHU: She was number 4 last year. Toyin
Aimahku is another actress we love watching in Yoruba
movies and she’s one of the most talked about cos she likes to
flaunt her hubby. Toyin is a very talented actress, she’s very
sellable. Toyin has so many fans that worship her especially
the male fans, I guess her style of acting has made her to build
a loyal fan base. Toyin is very bankable cos movies producers
confirmed that and her movies her successful. Toyin charges
150k per script.
