capital of Kampala. No one was hurt and the aircraft wasn't damaged, but motor traffic flow was seriously disrupted.
The said aircraft was initially heading to South Sudan but it couldn't land there and had to return to Uganda. It was not immediately clear why the pilot could not land in South Sudan.

Well not all bad incidents have such unhappy endings as you've expressed out here in Nigeria.....Remember during the OBJ era between 2oo4~2006 a light aircraft had to do a forced landing in similar circumstances & happy ending along the Old Lagos~Abeokuta Road...And construction giant Messrs Julius Berger were contracted to help out...Thank goodness for the dexterity shown by the pilots in both incidents

Hooray,hip hip, i narrowly escaped insult, thanks to your looking out for me.. I did read it and saw no real cause discussed... So i joined the opinion of other replies about empty fuel load... Maybe they read other sources with details about the cause being due to fuel loss.I am allowed to speculate and bear no grudge if i end up wrong.. Any way i am not interested in flying in any aircraft supported by african ground crews and air traffic authorities... Thanks for not insulting me, my birthday next week, just come join us here and i am buying the rounds of food and drink...

Make of the aircraft should be Antonov-An model....a soviet era troop carrier though out of commission decades ago, it still is in service at some third world african countries where it has reputation to be very prone to mechanical issues and has been center to all major devastating military aircrashes in the congo basin and rift valley....
