I almost captained Austin embarassed
Re: Nairaland Fantasy Premier League 2014/2015 by VitiMini(m): 2:57am On Nov 30, 2014
I actually captained Austin... I must confess, it was NO stroke of genius... I was wasted at the time and thought F*ck it, no one in their right mind will do this...

This game is an equal measure of luck and skill I guess.

The rest of my team are yet to play so who knows, captaining Austin may be the only good point of my gameweek... and it was a fluke!

Cresswell. . i had him in for Baines then changed mind at the last minute. . .

On a side note. . . . . see as the FPL media sweep my defeat of Intelligesia last GW under rug like say e nor happen. . . shior. .

This is probably the 1st week Ive prayed Aguero doesnt score.

For the 1st time this season, I am higher up in the table than both lalaboiy and Nitlad...that was my main target going into the season, and insha Allah, it shall remain ever thus.

Abdication not on the agenda yet. Soton were a bit naive against City. However, what still gives me confidence is that they played well against City, but swift counterattacks killed them off.

@Akpors4uall, I see they still have two tough fixtures on the way. But no shaking. No other defenders give more value for money.

As the week still be, I'm on my way to another win against Muki, who has seemingly gone AWOL. cool

I think i'm starting to lose it. Jus wondering how I bought sissoko over erikson, and capped Costa, whn i had austin, aguero. Glad the others also lost, i'm still maintaining my lead though. With Costa n Sissoko out, I'll av to make two changes (-4). and hope for the best in the midweek games. Still repping, Samurai Monsters.

Well, To be on top for so long feels great. All good things must come to an end but not yet. I am still the number one. As they say the EPL, in this case the FPL, is a marathon and not a sprint.

Come the end of the season, I still see myself as No 1.

Re: Nairaland Fantasy Premier League 2014/2015 by Nobody: 12:03pm On Dec 02, 2014
Just had Di Maria jettisoned.

Signed up Hazard and gave him the captain's armband.

Had to switch from my favoured 3-4-3 formation to a rather unconvincing 3-5-2 due to Costa's ban. I'm left with Aguero and Austin as frontmen - two forwards who'd be up against defensive behemoths like Brown and Williams.

It's looking like a weird mid-week already and this is all thanks to injuries and suspensions.

Let's see how this shrewd madness goes.

Fantasy Tabloid: Midweek Edition

The Race for Top-10

Intelligesia’s lead at the top have been reduced to 12 points by 2-time manager of the week, Raoul of Osvaldogang, having a wonderful season. Other previous Teams of the week winners, Casey Safe and Is she gone Pop are currently 3rd and 4th respectively. Raumdeuter was forced down to the 5th position while Riders of Rohan and Yemitokans retained their 6th and 7th positions. Dare2blues moved from 13th position to 8th, smuggling himself into the top 10 as he promised. SwagFC and Samurai Monsters completes the top 10 which is becoming more difficult to get into these days.

Injury Crises Hits Managers

It is quite difficult having to pay with your points each time you make extra transfers, but when the injury hits your team like a hurricane, its leaves you with no choice. D.Costa and Di Maria are currently topping the list of Transferred-out players and their prices are crashing down, forcing other managers to sell. Pelle is among the top sold players and is the only one in the list’s top 7 who isn’t injured. Managers are beginning to question his capabilities after failing to find the back of the net 3 games in a row and with tough fixtures ahead. With most managers already having played their wildcards, it will be interesting to see how they manage before the January wildcard is made available.

The Bandwagon
Aguero, Jedinak, Bony and Austin are currently topping the Transfer-In charts. With the recent blast in form, these players are undoubtedly the hottest so far. Other high-scoring cheaper options are coming from Burnley’s Ings and Spur’s Kane.

Head-2-Head Review

Carling Cup

Dare2think’s dare2blues maintained their first position at the carling cup. The team has been in the best of forms this season with their 11th win of the season, the highest in the carling cup. They will be facing dreamteam fc who lost to Oluamyd’s Phoenixes last week. Despite loosing to Spindex, Goldenboiz retained their 2nd position on the log

FA Cup

In the most interesting feature of the day, Charmokazzy’s Pornstars are going to square it off with seyi42k’s Intelligesia. The winner of this fixture will automatically move to first position on the log.
Charmokazzy’s Pornstars capitalized on the slip from Raumdeuter to move to 2nd position on the log after defeating Arsenal4Ever; while Intelligesia suffered yet another defeat, this time around, from the Razorbacks. Despite having a poor outing, lailaboy lalaboi’s ShinigamiX FC managed a very narrow win at home and will be playing Sonko FC this gameweek.

Conference Cup
In the most interesting league of the competition so far, the conference cup is turning out to be a real entertainment. Samurai Monsters, Mean Machines and Ijesha Warriors all have a record 11 wins and are currently tied on 33 points. Ironically, all 3 lost their games and would be looking set to make amends this gameweek.

Team Of The Week: JerryJat FC

From the bottom of the 3rd page of Nairaland premier league, comes the rookie: Jerry Jat FC who made a whooping 65 points in a gameweek where 39 was the average point. With all four defenders + keeper having a cleansheet, and a fantastic choice in Rooney as captain, one can see that the manager did his homework properly. Hopefully, we will get to see him move to the first page.

Captain Choice
The Tabloid’s indicators returned the following as top picks for captain contender:
1. Rooney: With 2 goals in his last 2 games, the united hitman is top spot to maintain his form. With a home fixture against Stoke, its easy to see why the indicator has picked him as top choice.
2. Bony: QPR has one of the worst defense so far in the premier league and Wilfred Bony is in form.
3. Aguero: Having watched the way Sunderland caged all the chelsea’s firepower last week, it will be a bold choice to give Aguero the armband. But the fantasy premier league is made for the bold.
4. Sanchez: Mancity proved that southahmpton isn’t as strong as we all thought; and if city can do it, sanchez can do it even better.

See you all at the top

nice set-up; should have sold Di Maria on sunday! Delayed until today and the price totally crashed, so I couldn't afford Hazard. I was even tempted to save my transfer for next week, but the way peeps are selling off the guy, he could be cheaper than Sammy Ameobi when he returns from injury

Me don troway all sickle-cellers dem comot from me team.

Shipped out 4 players, incuring a -12 point hit. Ain't nobody got time for loafers.

I figured my H2H opponent na wasa and even if I loose sef, ah no fit slide pass top 5. And I've already found myself on the wrong side of the 30th position this season on the classic league log. It can't get worse.
