Kossyne:I'm not trying to question the abilities of Wayne Rooney but he has failed to light up the world with the kinda showing he had when he first burst in the scene as a 16 years old and hailed as the england golden boy. Yes, he was won trophies and personal awards but that wasn't the heights the world expected.. Ask the english. And for Wilshire, most of the injuries he has had are very avoidable and because he is always in a haste to justify the expectations on him, he thereby makes rash and needless tackles. Take for instance his injury in the england friendly game wie he injured himself in a very needless tackle. Even the Paul Scholes talked abt his performances. |

sheylarhh: Wrong, in 2009. CAF did not have a mandatory MRI test. The only test carried out was by Nigeria, which can't be trusted. Now they do. 1 Like |

vokalguy: Watching the game at the monet, I know it is just a friendly but ladies and gentlemen, I can say we have a gem in our hands! Now lets hope he can get game time, that is very important at this point in time. For a 17 year old, he is confident on the ball, not scared to take shots, knows how to dribble, ready to distribute the killer pass that will unlock a defense... and he is just 17!!!. Na trial d guy still dey, e never sign anything. Make u cool down wella |

tbaba1234: MRI tests are indicative not absolute they give an age range not a definitive result. depending on a range of factors such as genetic disposition, nutrition, bone density, etc a 22 year old can easily pass. Consider Abuchi Obinwa born in the USA 16 years old but failed a Nigerian MRI scan and rejected by the NFA for U17 eaglets, HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THAT See link to further info he was even scouted by Real Madrid -now look at the face of a real u17 - NUFF SAID http://www.supersport.com/football/nigeria/news/130918/Abuchi_Obinwa_named_in_US_U18_squad |

Manchester City may prove a big mistake for him, how many youth players from their academy have made it to the 1st team in the last 5 years apart from Micah Richards almost zero. Iheanacho is actually one of the cheaper players they have bought the two boys they bought last year from Le Havre cost £Millions to mention but a few, he should have gone to a club that will enable him develop not City. |

spenx084: If only he was in Arsenal FC......Coach Wenger is the master of bringing up young stars...MAN City big names wont let his boy come close to first 11 for years to come because they will prefer to buy already made stars than giving youth a chance.Una never taya to dey sing this song? Only time will tell sha. We are all watching. |

sheylarhh: When you train at the highest level and eat special diets, yes, you can develop rapidly. There is a significant change in his looks from last year at the U-17 world cup. He trains for Man City, of course he will be placed on special diets to enhance his physical development. With the MRI age- test scan, he is more than likely 17 at most 18 years old. If you have proof to the contrary present those. We know Nigeria has poor history when it comes to football and age but things and times have changed. Because Mr. A lied about his age does not mean that Mr. B did the same. Every Nigerian is not a liar and an age cheat. Ihenacho is 17 years old. I didn't look any different from him when I was 17. I had classmates at that age who were bigger and taller. Genetics, food and constant workout, plays a big role in physical development. 1 Like |

komekn: They are not absolute in terms of actual age but it gives the bone age. It is only in rare cases that a 22 year old will pass. In Africa, 19-20 years might pass but it is far better than what used to happen. In the developed world, nutrition is better so kids are their normal growth age, Abuchi bones were just more developed than it should be. These extremes are rare. Iheanacho is also a product of the NFF u13/15 programme. The bottom line is that we are finally getting a bunch of geniunely young players. |

komekn: Manchester City may prove a big mistake for him, how many youth players from their academy have made it to the 1st team in the last 5 years apart from Micah Richards almost zero. Man City knows that he is a special talent. How are we sure City did not splash millions to get him to append his signature. He will break into the first team before too long. I continue to believe that if Keshi had given him a chance in Brazil he would have been a difference maker. There is no justification for leaving him out of the world cup team. Keshi would have done himself a lot of good taking Ihenacho and Kalu Uche to the world cup, but o well hindsight. For once I am beginning to believe that Keshi is not progressive minded. He had a chance to set himself apart, and attract possible suitors from around the world he blew it. 1 Like |

tbaba1234: You are absolutely correct. There is no way Ihenacho is a 22 year old. Nigerians also forget that training and nutrition plays a big role in physical development especially when you are playing at the highest levels. 1 Like |

tbaba1234: You made another good point. If Ihenacho has been under the tutelage of the NFF since 13 years of age, his nutrition will be better off than those of his peers in the general population. Therefore, they should be no surprises if he looks physically superior. 1 Like |

nifton: Wen i said dis boi shud av been at d world cup in place of mikel, pple crucified me dat he is too tender and inexperienced.Abeg dat guy dat came off d bench and scored d US only goal against d Red devil no be 16 im dey. Don't mind Nigerians...they do not know how to give the youth a chance. Many of them were saying he should wait for his time and that he was too young. If you are good, you are good, irrespective of your age. Nigerians need to learn that. Everything in their life is always about someone being a small boy. Very useless people. Iheneacho and Awoniyi on that squad would have infused energy, speed, and a lethal attack to our team. The goal Iheanacho scored yesterday would have been missed by everyone in the Super Eagles squad. They would still be trying to dribble or would be too scared to strike. |

I saw the whole game and i was in shock,,, At his current level, he is better than close to 95% of our so called super eagles adults.... His touches, runs into space, passing ability, finishing and even positional play is amazing..... infact, he did not belong in the pitch with those players yesterday....he was too advanced..... There was this shot he took from 30 yards, pellegrini looked at his assistant and they both nodded to each other..... But the fact is that he will be sent on loan....let us pray its on a team that will help him grow...hopefully in the EPL 1 Like |

keshi took certain players to the world cup for pecuniary reasons( my believe though). remember after the WC he went to the president and said he wanted 10mill monthly & upfront. kelechi, that boy is a class act. movement, link up play, control of the ball, shielding opponents, passes and shooting technique. for a young nigerian, he is awesome. |

It's so interesting because even in the U-20 team presently he's not exactly the best player, there are boys ahead of him as far as Manu Garba's selection is concerned. We got boys in the same class as him in the team. My head is spinning at the bright prospects of these boys for the future |

tbaba1234: In terms of their importance to the team right now, talking from the position of someone close to the team, Isaac Success, Ifeanyi Matthew, Musa Mohammed, Bernard Bulbwa (when fully fit), are ahead of Kelechi. Boys like Nwakali, Eze, Muazam, Yahaya, Awoniyi, Iheanacho are the ones on the same pedestral. See how fastinating this set is?! |

Re: Iheanacho In Man City's Starting Line-up by Princek12(m): 7:07pm On Jul 24, 2014 |
tbaba1234: Manu Garba did an excellent job scouting. You have to take into account, however, that scouting is relatively easy than it was in the past. Scouting in the past had to be done on a street level, as most of our football talents played street football. To the contrary, nowadays, most of our football talents play at football academies. All you have to do is attend the top football academies in the nation and you will find serious football talents. Good thing is that these kids are taught the fundamentals of football in their football academies at a very young age, so they are easier to coach when they are playing with a team in a more competitive stage. 1 Like |

You are absolutely on point. I think Keshi should be fired by the NFF. There is absolutely no reason why a talent such as Ihenacho should have been excluded from the national team. He is a far superior talent than anyone else Keshi took to the mundial. He probably took certain players to the world cup to get a cut of an eventual transfer fee. Adebayo of Togo made similar allegations against Keshi when he was with the Togolese national team. I believe those allegations were not unfounded. Keshi should make up his mind. He should either coach or become a player's agent, and not both. He stands to pocket a lot of money if he is a successful coach who is result orientated. Why not focus on coaching? If he is known as an excellent coach, money and offers from around the world will flood in. |
