It is not, my brother! But the sad reality is that if our politicians keep pushing this country along the current trajectory, if we don't change course, history will inevitably repeat itself! So sad seeing these images.

Smartsyn: Some men adviced Gowon to close the Cameroonian borders so as to prevent food and other relief materials from entering the Biafran territory and eventually many women and children were starved to death.

God ll forever punish those men, even in their death..

Who you should blame is the egotistic Ojukwu who prefered his people dying to surrender. In time of war, it is wisdom to cut supply. If this doesn't make sense to you, then "Welcome to the World"

NAIJASOM: The irony of life;

Most of the surviving children have grown up and living in mansions while the children of those who fought against them are suffering in poverty.

"Destiny can be delayed but can never be denied"

If you won the war, this would never had happened. You better praise Gowon everyday for opening your horizons, with Ojukwus dreams, the Igbos were going nowhere.

I feel so sad whenever i see photos of war.
war is never a means to an end.

I wish people like Asari Dokubo who have been beating the drum of war can go view the civil war picture archive and see the destruction and carnage that took place then. People who have witnessed real war and the resultant suffering will never wish their country to go through such again. War should never be an option to settle political differences. Nigerians really need to wise up and protect the unity and peaceful coexistence of this country.

that was not a strategy in war, bt a pure barbaric action, they would've face the men squarely arms to arms and not devicing other cheap methods that will affect the woman and chldren, that was pure genocide.

The web of leaders we had then were so daft that they couldn't reason out how to end the civil war. The only intelligent personality, a man with vision, a true leader, giving military tactics, though not one himself now deserves a train of curses. I believe that the story of Nigeria unity cannot be said without making mention of the output of his brilliance.

War is not a child's play. Ojukwu should have weighed the pros and cons before he declared Biafra.
it was the great massacre in the North that lead to his declaring Biafra, atleast he got the balls and not for the childish tactics deployed by the Nigerian side, he would've have his way..

The North Should do something about the killings being perpetuated on their territory of late if they got the balls and not crying FG FG all the time..

We never regretted Ojukwu declaring Biafra, our only regrets is that the people we fought with were not man enough, that could not face us squarely.

And what lead to the great massacre in the north? Have u forgotten how ur people were jubilating after the coup, the taunting songs and abuse the hausas suffered in your hands. That was what lead to the massacre. The same thing is happening in the south- west. When there is a reaction, some people will start crying victim. In war nothing is fair. War does not care for women and children. The two parts fighting, look for ways to destroy the other. And I still stand that nobody should fight a war unprepared.

I served in the East and heard the direct history of the war from some survivors. It is not just funny, many children born during that period were so unfortunate, may we never experience such war again.

I still dnt get why nigerians dnt want biafrans to go undecided.
Is it that they love them so much and can't afford to see them go OR they want them to suffer together with them undecided

More than 40 yrs after the war and yet there is still no peace.
I pray that we will brk up peacefully. AMEN smiley

I declare in Jesus' name that never again will we Igbos suffer defeat!
We are Jews and Biafra will rise as a powerful, prosperous, and independent nation just like our fellow Jews in Israel!
If the rest of Nigeria tries to attack us, we will lay waste to Abuja and Kano like Israel is doing to Gaza.

Watch the descendants and relations of those who brought death to Ndiigbo defend their actions and put the blame on Ndiigbo.

The story of Biafra must be passed down from Igbo fathers to sons, we must not forget, for those who brought death to our land are not repentant nor remorseful, and would not hesitate to do a repeat.
