Teflony: What are the views and experiences of the bright young things leaving havard this summer? These will be the movers and shakers in the US society in the years ahead, many of them about to step into influential jobs in business and goverment. Harvard's in-house magazine provides us with the following disturbing statistics:
1) There are 15% of harvard graduates who are gay- the survey also indicates a widespread acceptance of same-sex marriage.
2) Among male students, 48% admitted they watched regular pornography as against 59% of females who said they didn't.

3) For both male and female students social life involved drinking alcohol with 12% of respondents having more than 5 active sexual partners.

4)Among those planning to enter goverment or politics 39% have used marijuana while students.

So guys what do you think? If this is the future of america, is it getting weaker or stronger.

adanduka: Most of us have settled with the current trend of indecency and lack of morals that's why we don't find this survey disturbing.
I personally seem to tolerate a lot of things I see on TV or from people; things that I detested many years ago.
As a fresher, I remember a girl in my university on a hot mini who strutted out feeling cool with herself but was chased back by guys into the hostel. Now those same guys will analyse and compare ukwu and 'oranges'.
Indecency is becoming more and more appealing especially when it's packaged 'gracefully and confidently'.
If we started from where we were to where we are now, then imagine what will become of the next generation.

Flexy u are missing the point. I agree with the issues u raised about the hypocrisy with which we approach the sex issue. But the post is meant to show a possible decline in future world leadership. And moreover America is a collective issue, over 50% of international trade is done in dollars , america is one of the countries actively involved in the war against global terrorism.

And havard is a melting pot which has trained countless politicians world wide. If the quality of education in havard drops, quality of world leadership drops.

Apatheist: OP, compare the drop outs from this school [Bill Gates] with graduates from any school in Africa,and see if they are up to par.
