Posters bearing the images of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal and his Deputy, Emeka Ihedioha as President and Vice Presidential aspirants were Saturday seen in most major streets of Abuja, the Nigerian capital.

Although, both men are members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the posters carry the logo of the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC.

Reacting to the development via a statement, media aide to Tambuwal, Imam Imam, said the Speaker had nothing to do with the posters.

He further advised those behind it to respect the warning on political campaigns by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

“While we thank them for deeming us fit for elective office in the country, let it be known that since the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has not given the go-ahead for those interested in elective positions to start mobilisation, it is inappropriate for any person or group to print campaign posters and have them placed in strategic areas all over the country,” said Imam.

“Laws of the Federation are meant to be obeyed by the high and mighty. The Honourable Speaker will make known the direction he will take with regards to his political future at the appropriate time,” the statement added.

Lol! I laughed hard when i heard it on the radio this morning. Some silly guys are up to mischief! Ihedioha refuted all claims.
It was indeed a hilarious story.
But what was the purpose? Who was behind this?......a question for the gods.

Ihedioha is not responsible for this nonsense, He is looking towards imo state governorship and not the presidency at this time

This, if our people are as crafty as I'm thinking, isn't a presidential poster, but an attempt to destroy Ihedioha's chances of getting the PDP ticket for imo state governor.


Someone within PDP made this to make Ihedioha seem like his alliance to PDP/GEJ is questionable, because Tambuwal has already tainted his own and shown himself to be in an opposing camp of GEJ and his posse. Ihedioha has already made his allgence questionable because in the defection saga he was among those that were on the fence due to ties to OBJ (or Atiku) and only recently ran back completely because APC is a sinking ship.
He's not interested in the vice presidency but instead in the governorship of Imo where his opponents can only derail him by attacking his weakness which is his questionable loyalty to the president. Jonathan is purging PDP of OBJ or Atiku loyalists, which is also why Ekweremadu isn't going anywhere because he's Obasanjo's boy.

Ihedioha is a greenhorn. There is simply no chance of him getting the PDP ticket with or without the above gimmicks. The forces in Imo PDP are a handful for a neophyte like him.
