NMA Strike Update!!! by phantom(m): 12:08am On Aug 07, 2014 |
rising from the delegates meeting, dr obembe singlehandedly called of the strike in connivance with his NOC. the required one week notice before calling a delegates meeting was violated as this meeting was called in under two days. in the notice of meeting sent to delegates, the corrupt chairman obembe and his NOC refused to give the venue of the meeting and it was fixed for 8pm! consequently dr obembe and his NOC have been impeached!!! Lagos NMA chairman is now in charge. aluta continua.......... 3 Likes |

phantom: rising from the delegates meeting, dr obembe singlehandedly called of the strike in connivance with his NOC.You should be ashamed of yourself. Aluta in fighting for your greed or combating the epidemic that is ravaging your brothers I would rather be impeached than remain a chairman to idiots that are chasing the rat when their house is on fire. I've lost respect for Nigerian doctors including you incase you are one of them. 3 Likes |

Good riddance to himWho coerced or coaxed him into betraying his colleagues? Does he have retrograde/political amnesia? Last time I checked, the government threatened to privatize its hospitals and use military and paramilitary doctors to run the hospitals. There is no better time to do that than now. If Nigerian govt has such respect for lives of its citizens, why treat boko haram with kid's gloves? Aluta continua! |

phantom: rising from the delegates meeting, dr obembe singlehandedly called of the strike in connivance with his NOC.I hope its true he has been impeached. What kind of nonsense is that? Using underhand tactics to force a suspension of the strike. If issues with the government have been satisfactorily addressed like he said, why no do things the right way. I love the way obembe and his bunch of traitors were swiftly impeached under minuites without wasting time. This will serve as a deterrent to others who think NMA is their fathers kingdom and feel they can do what they like.Good riddance |

unfortunately obembe had given a press conference yesterday to announce the strike had been called off before he was disciplined with his NOC. meanwhile the strike continues....... they should as a matter of fact urgently announce the strike is ongoing. never underestimate the power of an old and deeply materialistic man heading an association. |

Zeus777: but u think u are knowledgeable enuf on this topic to come here and spew ur repugnant bile I wasn't speaking on the profession, I was speaking on general ethics of sensible humanity. who picks a fight with his spouse when their house is on fire? How responsible will you rate such a man? I will keep saying it, this is the height of irresponsibility on the part of doctors. 1 Like |

mployer:the health professionals that have died in Lagos fighting this Ebola scourge died in vain. your country has no plan to tackle this problem. your president is in the US snapping pictures while his country burns. none of our leaders want to take responsibility for this sad situation. as usual they want to make their doctors scape goats. what is the miracle you expect from doctors in tackling Ebola?? all we will get in coming weeks are health professionals dropping dead like flies all on 5,000 naira hazard allowance. your government is full of jokers. 2 Likes |

phantom: the health professionals that have died in Lagos fighting this Ebola scourge died in vain.Point of correction, the doctor didn't die in vain, she died a martyr, she died for her calling and we all know and respect that. So are the ones that died in Liberia. I hate it when people bring up government in this issue, a death threat to you and your brothers and you are waiting on government before putting your talent to use. 1 Like |

^^^^^^ You can also go and die a martyr. You don't have to be a health professional to help. Just go and tell them you want to help. I am very sure they'll find something for you to do. Update us in your progress. 2 Likes |

mployer:As if ur respect matters. You will still carry ur sorry self to see these same doctors u castigate. What u lot don't understand is that the doctors too are paying heavy prices for this strike. And why call off the strike now only to resume it next month? I think they should use this to correct their incessant 3-day warning strikes. I'm privileged to work close to those in power and unless a strike is declared they don't think u're serious. From education, to judiciary, to power to oil and gas............ Some of the current agitations of this strike dated back as far as 2000 and some beyond. Yet government keep signing MoUs that means nothing. 1 Like |

PresidentT: I've stopped complaining but I know they are irresponsible for failing us when we needed them most. Ebola doesn't know who a doctor is. You and your doctor friends are still potential victims so long as the virus remains in Nigeria. |
