How 'bout our doctors who went on strike over the certain issues? Why don't they act and prove their mettle now, so they can be taken seriously.

It's not enough to blame the govt alone...

Doesn't the health ministry have contingency plans for disaster scenario's like this? They should have planned and rehearsed for possible disaster scenarios like this.

When is the FG ever serious about a social issue ... or any issues dealing with the electorate?
The only thing the FG is serious about is sharing the national treasury sharp sharp sad

The country has never been serious on any issue so why should Ebola outbreak be an exception.

Nurses and doctors are the ones most susceptible to spreading the disease. A pack of latex gloves (100 pieces) cost N1,000 at a medical supply store. Can we support our brave nurses and doctors by buying and donating a pack each? If they are safe, we are safe.

Subject should include state govt and not just FG. Its hypocritical for the doctors to add their voice in this call because if they themselves were serious and humane they would have called off their senseless strike.

People in government are still seating down somewhere figuring out how to get their cut out of the Ebola allocation, I've never seen a more greedy and insensitive generation of thieves. As of this stage, government should have provided so much protective clothing that care workers never have to reuse one, maybe even for normal citizens too because how do you convey a sick person to the hospital without touching him. They are waiting for America and WHO to provide protective clothing for us too, I pray Ebola wipes them all out so that for once we can have an experience of being led by sane people, I live for the day GEJ would decide to visit an Ebola isolation unit and shed some of his legendary tears, but of course that's not gonna happen

APC and its lagos state branch of NMA are also trying to politicize this ebola outbreak. What on earth is wrong with this evil party? For christ's sake, its only an antichrist that will try to score cheap political points with things like ebola

Prevention is always better than cure.In this case of ebola, primary prevention should be properly instituted.secondary and tertiary prevention are NOT options for now.But the problem is that we focus more on the latter two in a place like Nigeria and most other african countries.May God save us.

Chatters:
Anyways, they are trying under the circumstances. But is that really their best?
Don't I just hate it when people say they are doing their best under the circumstance! What circumstance?
Is it that they lack fund to order sufficient personal protective gears for doctors and nurses?
Is it the lack of space to set up WHO standard isolation units at state levels?
The problem stems from the fact that our leaders are careless and one way or the other, they have been reassured that the virus can't come near them!
Even Chukwu that is making noise should throw away his suit, and join those managing the EVD cases and see first hand what they are risking. These doctors and nurses have spouses who have families who have friends etc.

If Jonathan is overwhelmed, let him speak out instead of declaring emergency and just talking without backing it up with any action.
That's what we get when we put vagabonds in power!
May God continue to help us.
