THERE was confusion in the Anambra State command of the Nigeria Police on Wednesday, as tension rose when some policemen from the command were transferred to the crisis-torn North-East.

Police officers who were transferred to Borno and Adamawa threatened resignation, while a Dvisional Police Officer (DPO) from Anaku Division, in Ayemelum Local Government Area (names withheld), resigned.

The DPO was said to be due for retirement February 2015, but was posted to Chibok in Borno State as DPO and was heard saying it would be better for him to go home in peace than in pieces since his retirement was at hand.

The move shocked the state police command, as many who were transferred to Sokoto and Bauchi states  were considering the option of resignation.

All efforts to speak with the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Usman Gwarry was not successful and the Police Pubic Relations Officer (PPRO), who would have spoken on his behalf was said to have been transferred to Sokoto and was running around.

By the way I thought I read elsewhere that the DPO collapsed upon hearing the news, why this filtered version? Shameful cowards.

This should be condemned as it will negatively affect the morale of other officers in the force, especially the ones serving in troubled areas. These officers should be punished as a deterrent to others.

When soldiers are being killed and more are deserting in droves, who is an ordinary police officer? Dont they know that he is fast becoming a civilian when he is so close to his retirement.

its easy to make noise online the northerns should solve the problems they created, if he is your dad will you advice him to go to chibok? if it so much pain you kindly join the police force and demand to be posted to chibok.
