Hello all, I'm not sure if I should be posting this here but from my own understanding it says 'car chat room' so I'm gonna bring it up... A lot has been going on about the peugeot 406 in nigeria, I've driven one myself and its one of the best cars I've ever driven, I drove the 3.0V6 prestige with 210bhp, now I'm having an arguement with my friends that a 2008 honda accord V6 is faster than the 406 V6?? Its that true??

This is sad, I hate honda's and I will never use my money to buy one, the only honda I will think twice on Is the 2007 accord or the 2012 accord coupe (evil spirit) and I'm not a fan of I4's too, but I do love volkswagens TSI engine tech, turns an I4 into a v6!! . Since u said that the accord is quicker I'll try to drive one and see hw it goes coz any car that's faster than the 406 is crazy

Siena: ^^^I'm not a Honda fan either, preferring Euro brands. I love my Audi's, but I know the 2008 Honda V6 will decimate a 2008 Audi A4 Quattro V6. The Audi is awesome, lots of grip from the Quattro AWD, but it's a heavy pig.

One thing you need to realise - for every fast car, there's a faster one out there.

This only come from being automotive matured and exposed to many brands.

Not true.

It may have similar or even more hp/torque as a V6 but an I4 can never turn into a V6 (there're individual characteristics of both designs.

Though I will entertain an argument of schemes that turn of a few cylinders on V8 when absolute power is not needed.

Peugoet 406 Prestige V6 3.0 does not exist. Prestige is just a badge for mostly 406 PAN production with EW10 engine. PAN stopped at EW10. They didnt produce EW12 406, not to think of the V6.

What dealers do, out of ignorance, is as soon as foreign produced 406 comes into the country, they will buy the "Prestige" badge and stamp on them. Most prospective buyers ignorantly buy them, thinking prestige means D9 or facelifted 406. Its just a badge like SR, ST, GLX, LX, etc. It simply specifies the specifications of the Lion.

V6 406 usually comes with 3 badges: V6, V6 SV and V6 Executive. The executive have more gadgets. Send me the VIN of the V6 you drove with Prestige badge and i will confirm the true badge from Peugeot database and post it here.

I can't get the VIN number because the car is at kaduna, and I'm in abuja, but the car was a V6 because I checked the engine, I have a picture of it too!

I am not doubting whether its V6 or not. I only wanted you to know that "prestige" you called it is wrong. V6 is V6. Prestige is Inline-4. So if it has a prestige badge on it, then it was stamped in Nigeria.

I was opportuned to drive his Honda but he drove my 406 which he confirmed that the 406 V6 is faster especially with a manual transmission. You needed to see how excited he was while driving.

The Honda accord 2008 V6 should compete with 406 EW12 & not the 3.0L V6 because is not match for it. Even a sound EW10 will give it a run for his money not to mention EW12 & 3.0 V6. Mind you, they are all manual transmissions

your friend was excited because its a manual transmission. They give that feeling
