Please my blackberry phone keeps calling whenever I want to check my account balance..an mtn line...pls any help

My brother has similar problem with his blackberry. What he does now when he wants to check his account balance, mb or load a recharge card, he calls customer care and while the the programmed voice is talking, he dials the code for checking account balance, load a recharge card or check his mb. Check your balance through the sim menu. Most used BB does that.

It is normal thing with US used phones. What u will do is:
Dial any number, preferably 180 if u are using MTN. While the call is still connected, load ur card/check ur balance. Then opt in for bb subscription. After that, it will stop.

I guess u are using one of those Blackberry that runs on both the GSM/CDMA frequency. I use one too. A Bold 9930. Had same issues when I began using my phone but even since I began subscribing to the Monthly Blackberry plan from MTN,I was able to check data balance and recharge my line through short network codes. Since then I have had no issues with my performing those commands.

It happens usually when your BIS is off or your data is turned off. Turn your data on in your phone settings and go from there.
