INSECURITY: EWULU COMMUNITY SENDS “SOS” TO DELTA STATE GOVERNMENT

The peaceful community of Ewulu in Aniocha south Local Government area of Delta State has sent a “SAVE OUR SOULS” to the Government of Delta state and the law enforcement agencies over the incessant Armed Robbery cases and other social vices confronting the community.

Findings have revealed that on Wednesday, 6th August, 2014, Mr Chidi Chinedu, a Councellorship aspirant of Ward [9] Ewulu, Aniocha South local Government was kidnapped on the lonely Ewulu Road admist sporadic gun shot while travelling to Ogwashi-Uku from Ewulu.

According to sources, “For quite sometime now, the community which is known for its calm communal lives have witnessed Armed Robbery cases within the road leading to Ogwashi-uku and cases of burglary within the community, including the recent robbery on a Reverend Father”

Describing the situation as pathetic, a concerned Ewulu indigenes who prefered anonymity, has therefore appealed to the Delta state Government and law enforcement Agencies to help restore sanity to the community.

“Government should help us mobilze security men to comb round the community to reduce these Armed Robbery incidences in the area before the situation gets out of hand”, the concerned Ewulu indigenes cried out.

A community leader in Ewulu has also described the kidnap of their illustrious son, Mr. Chidi Chinedu as a very big disaster, especially now that the community needs his service, saying that “This young man has used his hard-earned money to attract free medical care to the community.”

“We therefore appeal to the state Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan to focus his peace and security agenda to the community to make sure that the community enjoys from the good atmosphere which Delta state is witnessing today”, he said.
