President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday thumped his chest for organising a successful national dialogue, saying the peaceful ending of the 2014 National Conference has put the prophets of doom, who predicted its failure, to shame.

Mr. Jonathan said he meant well for the country and promised to implement the recommendations of the 2014 National Conference, which officially closes today.

The president made the pledge Thursday at the National Judicial Institute, NJI, during the closing ceremony of the conference, where he also received the 21-volume report from the conference chairman, Idris Kutigi.

Mr. Jonathan also said the successful conclusion of the conference have proved cynics, who never gave the conference a chance, wrong.

He said some of the recommendations of the conference will be considered by the National Council of State, while the remaining ones will be sent to the National Assembly.

Just if Regional Government would be adopted, Nigeria would have been on path of development.

Anyway. I support creation of new states. The minorities must be listened to if they are in full support.

That is the default setting of any Jonathanian! They believe anyone opposed to their shenanigan is an enemy,an opposition,an APC member,a Boko Haramist and all what not

Nigerians should pay heed to Jonathan's attempt to get tenure elongation through the backdoor....a part of the conference report which was earlier devilishly styled 2014 Proposed Constitution but for the alertness of some eagle-eyed conferencees who insisted the title should be changed to Proposed Amendment to the 1999 Constitution,says a new 6year tenure should be proposed as against the 2-Tenure of 4years each to the executive arm of the government without excluding the present occupiers including Jonathan

Without saying too much......we await how Jonathanians who are adept at buying the conscience of the gullible to bulldoze their way through a plural National Assembly to get that particular tenure elongation passed

If at this moment we are still asking for as much as 18 states to be created inspite of the waste and bloated government in Nigeria,then it's a shame on us

Albeit....i am in support of just one state to be created in the SE to assuage their feeling over the years
