obviously you're a joker cos first bank shares was never sold at 50k per share in 2007. As a matter of fact the share price was around 40 naira and rhey did a public offer at 33 naira that same year.

well if you really bought 1000 units in 2007 I assume from their public offer, then you should have about 1640 units now. just multiply 1640 by the current price 14.61 you have 23, 960 and if you've been claiming your dividend you would have collected about N8000 since then.

If it is 50kobo per share then subtract:

(50/100)*1000 = N500

From the shares recent market value. I think the figure u get is ur accumulated returns over the years.

My dear you didn't buy the shares at 50 kobo if you divide 19800 by 600 you'll get N33. it simply means that you bought 600 ordinary shares of 50k each at 33 naira per share. meanwhile why are you contradicting yourself I thought you said you bought 1000 units.

50 kobo is the nominal value of every stock on the Nigerian stock exchange. The true price when you bought it was 33 naira that's 19800 divided by 600

Ohh! He meant he spent N16800 to buy 600 units of 50kobo each at N33 per share?

Check how much that same ordinary share is sold today so we can take the calculation frm there.

Lets go!

Recently, as in today (12/02/15), Dangote sugar sell at 7.15. This mean sm % decline frm that of yr 2008.

1000 shares at 38.90» 1000 x 38.90 = 38900

At 50kobo each » 50 x 38900 = 1945000 kobo

Convert to Naira, 1945000/100 =N19450

This means that if the amount (ie 38.90) by which u bought the shares back in 2008 remained unchanged, ur dividend wud be N19450.

Going by 7.15, 1000 x 7.15 = 7150
7150 x 50 = 357500 kobo; 357500/100 = N3575

This means that ur dividend has been reduced by N3575.

ie 19450 - 3575 = 15875
Hence ur current dividend stands at N15875.
