Seun: Fellow Nairaland Members,

You can now share interesting topics with your followers by simply clicking the (Share) button on every topic.

You can view all topics that have been shared with you or which you have shared by clicking SH or Shared(N) on the forum header.

This feature is still in the beta testing stage, so please report any bugs that you encounter to us on this thread.

We hope you find this feature to be useful, and perhaps even indispensable.

justi4jesu: Seun can someone Unfollow a shared Topic the same way i can unfollow my followed Topics?
No, but it doesn't matter because you will only be notified once for each topic (thread) that is shared with you.
You can unfollow people who share too many topics that you don't like, though, since it means your interests are not similar.

Seun, I think the Share counter on the forum header doesn't reset to nill after you checked the share. Like I had two share from Ishilove, I clicked on the shared topics to read through. Then I reopened the forum homepage, still my share counter remained two.. take a look on that..

Ok noted..that means its either i risk unfollowing the person/people or i just endure all the shared topics that doesn't interest me cry cry

What's your shared topic count at this current moment? What network were you on when this happened?

@Seun Thumbs up on this one! But please my suggestion is that of a little bit of modification!
If the "share" link is clicked, a user should be able to select who they intend to share a thread with.
By clicking the "share" link, a thread should not just be shared cross board to one's followers and people they follow.
I can't imagine sharing a political thread with followers of mine that are always in the Romance or Religion section! So the ability to decide who or who not to share a thread with should be included Mbok! #LLN (Long Live Nairaland.com)
Re: Topic Sharing On Nairaland (Shared Topics) by cirmuell(m): 6:55am On Aug 26, 2014
@ Seun, perhaps there should be a way to share topics with specific followers and not necessarily all your followers.

@Seun Nairaland should not be necessarily skewed to people following people of similar interest... If a user has an option of choosing who and who not to share a thread with, it would reduce the number of users getting shared thread that are off their interest

Noticed that when I share a Topic I don't get to see the 'Un-Share' link except I go back to the topic through the 'Share' link on the top menu of the page (see attached screen). Well done bro.

Seun: What's your shared topic count at this current moment? What network were you on when this happened?
It's now nill. When it happened I first noticed it on my office system using wired LAN. Then I experienced it with MTN and Glo networks on my Samsung S4 and Note 3 respectively. It's all better now as of this moment...

Btw Seun, is it possible for me to see those who 'liked' my posts I mean can we have a command button that generates users handlers who 'liked' my posts?.. and what about 'Dislike' button

Again, can't we buy shares into Nairaland? So, we can share profit every good year.

Well done..

I think this idea should be expanded to posts. If I really like a post and want to share with others, I should be able to do so.

exactly! That would be very frustrating you know? I mean, seeing you have a shared notification, only to click and find threads about Rottweiler and Bulldogs... It would be so frustrating I would want to push the unfollow link beside @seun moniker on my profile, then I will ask myself, " if I do?", how would I see future shared topics about new inventions on Nairaland.com etc ? So in that case I would chose not to un-follow @Seun, and I will be forced to live all my life with @Seun threads on Rotts and Bulldogs etc, which is an abuse of my fundamental Nairaland.com right! *tongueOut* *Wink*

This was considered, but it makes things too complicated. Follow people whose interests are similar to yours and ignore the topics you don't like!

@Seun your interest and that of mine are somewhat different, but I can't afford to Un-follow you for obvious reasons, and I can't afford Not to check when I have a "share" notification! You feel my pain?
