Nigerian Troops Return From Cameroon, Continue Counter Terrorism Campaign

The Defence Headquarters has confirmed that troops who returned from Cameroon were on Tuesday addressed by the General Officer Commanding 3 Division, Major General Zaruwa, as they embark on another mission in the Counter Terrorism campaign.

All the soldiers are in high spirit with all their weapons and equipment intact.

The Nigerian Defence headquarters on Monday clarified issues concerning Nigerian troops who found themselves in Cameroon during a fierce battle with terrorists.

The BBC, quoting Cameroon’s army, said that about 480 Nigerian soldiers fled into Cameroon following fierce fighting with Boko Haram militants.

Cameroon’s Army spokesman, Lt Col Didier Badjek, told the BBC that the soldiers had been disarmed and were being accommodated in schools.

The Nigerian soldiers are currently in the Cameroonian town of Maroua, about 80km (50 miles) from the Nigerian border, Lt Col Badjek told the BBC on Monday.

“Tactical Manoeuvre”

However, in a post on its website on Monday, the Defence headquarters said: “The Nigerian troops that were found in Cameroun was as a result of a sustained battle between the troops and the terrorists around the borders with Cameroun which saw the Nigerian troops charging through the borders in a tactical manoeuvre.

“Eventually they found themselves on Cameroonian soil. Being allies the normal protocol of managing such incident demanded that the troops submit their weapons in order to assure the friendly country that they were not on a hostile mission.

“Following necessary discussions between Nigerian and Cameroonian military authorities, the issues have been sorted out. Subsequently, the troops are on their way back to join their unit in Nigeria”.

Tactical manoeuvre ko ,condensed milk ni.
Advancing backward.
We have all seen the videos .
We saw the soldiers running.
We saw the terrorist capturing light and heavy weaponry with their pick up trucks.
Nothing is new there, we have a useless government and a corrupt president who knows nothing about accountability/responsibilty.
I Just hope SW Leaders have contigency plans in place because as it is,
It is obvious that the country lacks a leader and they must start planning for the defence and independence of yorubaland.

The question I keep asking is how BH was able to aquire such sophicated weapons? They must be some top place nigerians who aid this criminals and I think they are the real BH which the govt has to find and kill, if not all this wil be wild goose chase.

Are u saying Nigerian soldiers ran several kilometres into Cameroun on foot?

Or you think Boko Haram will catch a glimpse of fleeing Nigerian soldiers and just relax to film them running away? Instead of wasting them with long range ammunition?

Or have you forgotten that Boko Haram also possesses Nigerian military uniforms and could have easily stage managed a film shoot of 'fleeing' Nigerian soldiers for gulible 1diots like you.

Listen to your F00lish self calling on South West to have contigency plans? A region where accidental bomb explosions at Ikeja amoury in 2001 killed over a thousand people that were no where near the site of the disaster.

Rubblish.

U better pray for our Nigerian army or STFU.

YOUWIN is the best youth empowerment programme ever embarked upon by a Nigerian government.

Unlike the rubbish you have in some SW states where Agberos are gathered and paid monthly salaries for doing nothing.
