The Federal Government through the Minister of Education, Ibrahim Shekarau, had last month announced October 13 as resumption date for all schools, but following the outcome of a meeting held, private and government schools in Nigeria will resume on Monday 22 September 2014.

What a relief for mothers who have been wondering how to manage their 'naughty' kids if they are to stay at home till October 13th! It's however sad that a lot of parents seem to have shifted their responsibities to school teachers these days..

I would've preffered 14th October, but September 29 is still fair if the news is true.

Hope FG were not arm twisted by the school proprietors for FG to rescind its initial decision.

You mean my children? I'm a concerned working mother who just want to be sure our children will be safe in school. The extension is not convenient but with the new outbreak of EVD in PH and the number of people under surveillance, one can't be too careful.

2 weeks for learning will be very beneficial. 1st term already had a short calender. With resumption being postponed, learning would have been rushed now it won't be as bad.
