The Adamawa State University in Mubi has been shut down indefinitely following the heightened insurgency and insecurity in the state.
Members of the Islamist sect, Boko Haram are reported to have taken over Michika and Bazza towns in Hong Local Government Area of the state after an attack at the weekend.
The school authorities of the Adamawa state university decided to shut down the shool to prevent any attack on the students as a nearby town Uba very close to Mubi has been alleged taken over by the insurgents as well.
Uba town is just about five kilometers to Mubi.It would be recalled that Boko Haram had taken control of the towns of Gwoza, Bama and most recently Banki, all in Borno State outgunning and overpowering government troops.
