The Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu, has pledged a donation of 1,500 chicken to the management of Avutu Modern Poultry in the state.

Hon. Uwajumogu made this pledge on Monday, during the flag-off of chicken sales to the public at the poultry. He also expressed a desire to see commercial rearing of cattle and fishes soon.

Earlier in his speech, the Director General, Avutu Modern Poultry Mr. Frank Ibezim lauded the governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, for bringing the poultry back to life after it had ceased operation for almost 40 years. The however said, that the management and staff of the Avutu Modern Poultry is set to receive with open arms any individual or group of persons who would be willing to partner with them or better still invest in the poultry.

Adding his voice, the imo state commissioner for Finance, Governor Okorocha’s achievements since the inception of his lauded him for reviving the dead poultry.
