TB JOSHUA CLAIMS PLANE COLLAPSED HIS GUEST HOUSE
(But Nearby Residents Say They DIDN'T See or Hear Any Plane)

Nigerian TV preacher, TB Joshua claimed that the collapse of the Guesthouse of his megachurch was caused by a mystery small plane that circulated over the guesthouse in Lagos before it fell. But nearby residents and street vendors said they did not see or hear the sound of any plane before the building collapsed.

Church members said TB Joshua was adding the 2-storey Guesthouse to the existing structure so that FOREIGN VISITORS will pay the church for lodging instead of paying for hotels. It collapsed on Friday killing 41 people so far with 123 people rescued. Local Govt officials and residents of the street said TB Joshua's Synagogue Church was building "additional floors on top of the existing structure."

One witness, Mr. Kola Adewumi who said he worked as paid bricklayer said the contractors were "adding and adding more floors on building. I told them I was hearing noise like the building was carrying big load but they said Oga TB Joshua said the building is sanctified. I was afraid so I refused to come to work the next day and the house fell down. I live near here. I heard the building fall but I did not hear any aeroplane at all." Other residents said they did not see or hear the sound of any plane before the building collapsed.

TB Joshua claimed that a small plane circled over the building four times before it collapsed on Friday afternoon and that it may have been an attempt to kill him. TB gave journalists a CCTV video clip of what he claimed was the small plane and he begged the journalists "to use their discretion to write on what they saw," reports BBC.

Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, Lagos spokesman of the Nigeria's National Emergency Management Agency told Reuters news agency that, "We have 41 dead and we rescued 123 people but from the way the house fell there would be more bodies inside especially church members and building workers"

Some journalists said they did not see a plane on the CCTV video TB gave to them. Others said they saw video of a plane but it was NOT of the area near the collapsed building. The search continues. Number of missing is still unknown.
