Focused on enhancing poultry farm productivity within the mandate of ensuring availability of good and quality breeding stock and health coverage especially for household poultry in the rural areas, the 2014 GES- Poultry Value Chain roll-out programme is set to cover 27 states in the country with 2700 beneficiaries of 100 day-old chicks, three 25kg bags of feed or quick mash and vaccines.

This was disclosed by the Director, Animal Production and Husbandry, FMARD, Dr. Ademola Raji who was represented by his deputy, Mr. Rasheed Adeola at the ceremony which held at the State Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources (MANR), Kwara State where 100 poultry farmers in the state were empowered with over 100,000 Day-old chicks at subsidized prices.
