As far as I am concerned, I believe Akala did better than Ajimobi. The general perception that Akala did nothing is a perception doctored by the opposition thru the media, In reality, it is not true. Akala did his best. Lets talk about construction opf major roads and using Ibadan as a case study

Ajimobi Dualised 1) Eleyele to Dugbe/Alesinloye Rd 2)Challenge to Lagos Express overhead bridge 3)Onireke Rd 4) Mokola Overhead bridge
Note
Onirekje Rd is less than or equal to 1 km while the challenge road is about 1 km or a little above that, I'm not so sure (its a distance u can walk in about 20 mins)

Apart from these, I dont know any other road constructed by Ajimobi in Ibadan metropolis

Akala Dualised 1) Molete-oke Ado to Dugbe - J Allen Rd 2) Dugbe to Queen's Cinema Rd 3) Ojoo to Mokola Rd 4) Abe Bridge Iwo Rd to Olodo Rd
5) AgodiGate - UCH Rd 6) Odo Ona Elewe express rd
Note
Dugbe to Queen's Cinema Rd is less than or equal to I km
Though Agodi Gate UCH Rd project was commissioned by the newly elected Ajimobi then, the outgoing government executed the project.
Except for Odo ona Elewe which was not completed, All other roads are still in good condition
So the general bandwagon statement that Akala roads are sub standard and have been swept away can never be true cos all the roads I mentioned are still in good condition and bear it in mind that the roads are about 6 years old now. How can they be substandard if after 6 years they are still in good condition?

The reason why I would score Akala better than ajimobi are as follows:
1)Akala was the 1st governor to raise the bar of road expansion and dualisation in Ibadan, the past 2 governors since '99 did not
2)Akala was the 1st governor since '99 to streetlight all major roads in Ibadan. Before Akala there were no street lights, he went as far as using generating set to light them during power outage just to be sure that the lights are on thru the nights
3)Akala was the governor that reintroduced traffic lights in major junctions in Ibadan Lam didnt, Ladoja didnt
4) Akala was the 1st governor to rejuvenate the public hospitals in Ibadan the yemetu hospital was a dilapidated smelly colonial building, u can see what it looks like now. Lam and Ladoja are both Ibadan guys but they did nothing, did they?

Ajimobi then criticized Akala's mega hospital project in Ogbomoso and annex in Oyo as a waste but we can see the massive structure what has he Ajimobi done to better Akala in health sector since 4 years? we can't see anything.

So the perception that Ajimobi is performing wonders, I don't know where it comes from. Oh! I think I know, The almighty Media, they think for u.
And the perception that Akala did nothing I dont know where it comes from Oh sorry the media again? They think for u.

At least Akala understands the imperative of allowing money to circulate in an economy and he did just that by empowering local service providers. when they are paid, the capital stays in the state and it will circulate to the common traders on the street. But Ajimobi on the other hand, we know how much has been said on his policy and capital flight and the result his evident. No money in circulation. So its unfortunate that today in Nigeria the electorate do not assess their candidates based on facts and figures, they go with sentiments or base their perceptions on media projections. Even at that, still ajimobi can't survive Akala's contention. The political situation as it stands has already edged Ajimobi out of office. And by then it would be apparent to all that Ajimobi plotted his own downfall by chasing everyone away and going to the polls using a one man army strategy. Nobody does that!

in addition all the completed federal medical centres during akala tenure but which were yet to be commissioned before his exit are no longer being attended to in some parts of the State. I wouldn't know why the current government doesn't open them for the public use.

I hail akala for so many projects he completed during his tenure esp those having to do with making permanent appointments available to the people of the State. All these are evident in health care delivery, schools and colleges, ministries and even micro finances among others. I won't know why many people could turn to be ungrateful going by many posts here. he really did his best in the State.

Likewise ajimobi is doing the best he could on infrastructure and security. instead of condemning and sweeping under the carpet the achievements of one administration while hailing the other people should do Justice in their analysis and accept the fact that different administrations would achieve different purposes. we better give credits due to various administrations because whatever they have done successfully will always be there for recorded purposes.

to say that akala did not achieve anything is mockery and big lies onto those spreading such. Likewise to say ajimobi doesn't perform would be an act of hypocrisy. people will always be drawn back if they hold onto falsehood. My observation is that many things are being spoiled while people in government are playing politics.

My observation on the road being dualised in Ogbomoso is that it is sub standard. this is to let those concerned rectify things they are doing wrong.

I have quoted you already. If nothing happens to Nairaland come next year (God forbid), we will all see how precise your prediction is. Hope you dont read meaning to my statement?
Kayraph: Don't underestimate the possibility of Akala's return to power in Oyo State.

He lost marginaly to Ajimobi in the last election because Ladoja polarised the electorates choice with Accord Party.

I forsee a keen contest again between APC and PDP in Oyo Gubernatorial elections come 2015.

Mark my words!
As a true son of Ibadanland, I choose to be silent on this matter.
