I weep for my country. I wish, i wish, i wish. May the good Lord deliver us. Bro, if you are on the truth, no evil will befall you and your family, but if otherwise, the repercussion is there, you know. God bless you.

PerfectFortune: Nicolas Ibekwe has finally found a way to get public attention and become popular and it seems to be working for him already.

Press everywhere in the world receives money to write good stories about somebody or an events. The Briths do it through BBC while the Americans use the CNN and others. President GEJ employed one recently while the APC is also suspected to have employed the services of Sahara Reporters.

They call it image laundering....
This case is clearly bribery, different from ur image laundery. they were bribed not to say the truth.

It takes a lot of courage and been principled to do what you have done. The truth is bitter. In Nigeria today it is a case of perception and not facts such as:

WHITE or CREAM
BLACK or GRAY

We chose not to say the obvious. God bless you and be safe.

Not surprising, because you have started yours through TAN...what's update over the $9.3m "Cash for Arm Deal" Jonathan led FG story?

BALDERDASH. THAT'S NO BRIBE.

YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT YOU HEAR IS ENTIRELY UP TO YOU. ?IQ
HAVEN SAID THAT, THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO NEED FOR THE MAN OF GOD TO HAVE OFFERED THAT MONEY. THAT WAS NOT A COURTESY CALL. HE ACTED OUT OF ORDER THAT IS WHY THIS GUY WANTS TO TAKE HIM TO THE CLEANERS.

HOWEVER WHAT I FIND RATHER VERY VERY DISTURBING IS THAT A FEW HOURS AFTER THE COLLAPSE WITH PEOPLE UNDER THE RUBBLES, THE PROPHET CAN AFFORD TO CRACK A JOKE OR SOME JOKES WITH THE JOURNALISTS. HE DID NOT SEEM TO BE REMORSEFUL OR RATHER CONCERNED THAT LIVES WERE AT STAKE OR DYING IN HIS COMPOUND. HE SAID HE HAD MORE THAN 2000 PEOPLE TO ATTEND TO, IS THAT WHAT IS IMPORTANT AT THAT PARTICULAR MOMENT?

I AM A STRONG AND ARDENT FOLLOWER OF THE MAN OF GOD. MY LIFE AND THAT OF MY FAMILY HAVE BEEN POSITIVELY TOUCHED BY WATCHING AND PRAYING WITH EMMANUEL TV BUT HIS AND THE CHURCHES REACTION TO THE EVENTS OF THE LAST FEW DAYS IS A BIT DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND.

ONLY TIME WILL TELL.

Interesting read. Nigerians have gotten so used to corruption to the extent that they fear for any individual who has dared to be different, others would poke holes to discredit him as if we were no different from those he is accusing. It almost seems as if most of us are 'enjoying' being deceived- slave mentality!

all the education, religion, overseas trips and even the internet has not illuminated majority of Nigerians personified by you.
God will never save us, the change starts from me n each of us. this fine, brave and rare journalist is an example of how good and truly educated/enlightened people ought to reason objectively.
this mentality and mindset of my country men is appalling.
your line of thinking is pathetic even after 90 souls from far and near perished.
i pray all those of you fighting for the man of God will taste tragedies occasioned by the rot in our society.
between i have nothing against the man of God other than he ought to take responsibility for the structural failure rather than postulating diverse conspiracy theories.

You line of reasoning depict profound ignorance. You can pray that tragedies befall others based on the rot in the nation? That's a very progressive way to think. If nothing is working in your life, you don't have to transfer the aggression on others.

Back to the journo, he claimed that the media "was not harsh enough" on the church and pastor. Why not go and publish your own version of the story? Why trying to attain cheap popularity and fame by bringing down other journos like himself?

There are always several version of one event. Write your own story and don't try to bring pple down for whatever reason you claim to have. These are the kind of journos that end up blackmailing pple over trivial matters.

A South African team of experts on the ground in Nigeria is working closely with [their Nigerian counterparts] to ensure that this process is completed as soon as possible."

The process involved either identification of bodies by next of kin, through photo identification, from fingerprints, from dental records, or - if all these were not possible - through DNA.

He said DNA sampling took time.

"Our government appeals to the families and the nation to bear with us as we allow our team in Lagos the necessary time to complete this process."

All efforts were being made to keep the identification process as short as possible, he said.

Once the bodies were all identified, a team of 70 South African military health service experts "is ready to depart for Lagos with specialised equipment to transport the deceased back to South Africa with the required care and the required respect", he said.

Around 115 people, among them 84 South Africans, were killed and dozens trapped when a multi-storey guesthouse attached to the Synagogue Church of All Nations collapsed in Lagos on 12 September.

Thatis what you can read in south africa so why not in nigeria and they speak since many days about 115 death bodies.

Well, I heard the same thing with you, but what I heard was with an unbiased mind. The analysis you gave shows that you are doing the wrong thing which is illegal: driving a car with incomplete particulars. What happened in synagogue was basically an accident, therefore your analysis is wrong. The journalist should have put the question to T.B.Joshua: the definition of the brown envelop, until then you can't say its a bribe. I believe if the money was a bribe, T.B.Joshua would tell them what to write and also reiterate the question more until they tell him what they will write. But he didn't. I'm not a follower of T.B.Joshua oo, and I don't practice religion, I'm only talking unsentimental.
BetaThings:
1. Every responsible private sector organisation prohibits gifts or imposes a limit on them. Some will never allow money to be given
2. I have dealt with journalists before, please don't try and misinform us on what we know. Nigerian journalists are not well paid, but reporting on a matter like this is different from commenting on whether a bank's ATM breaks down frequently.
3. As for giving, there is a time for everything. When a policeman stops my car and he finds that my papers have issues, I cannot be giving him a gift at that point
But when same policeman on his way home spends some time to resolve a traffic gridlock or he stands in the rain to ensure traffic moves freely, money given to hm then is a gift
Mr Ibekwe says that they were asked
"what are you going to write?"
But you heard something different
Please can you provide a transcript
Re: Why I Published The TB Joshua Bribery Audio - Nicholas Ibekwe by jigabanty(m): 11:04pm On Sep 24, 2014
Mr Man, watch what you say to that quoted chap. Meanwhile, I don't practice religion and I'm not even T.B Joshua's follower. The bible reference you gave has nothing to do with the matter at hand. Take a minute to check the real meaning of bribe. Until you are told what to do, bribery is not complete. Of-course the journalist still have the right to write whatever pleases them about the incident which they eventually did.
Oduduwaboy:
Of course he did not give any bribe! We all know that with God all things are possible; Bribery is nothing more than cheerful-giving with men of god!
@ ghanaotnigeria , see what we are talking about? Its clear the brain of the quoted chap has liquified as a result of religion.

Nicholas Ibekwe you are a man of the people joor.

All those religious bigots, can one of you please explain how an aircraft made the building collapse as reported by your pastor? Tell me, how many of you would exchange 50,000 for the life of one of your relatives? God has given us brains; you don't expect him to also give you a manual on how to make good use of it.

But no British or American public figure will bribe journalists not to publish the fact. In fact, any attempt at that will land them in court. Yes, no?

Really? So you believe everything said on the news is true. Journalist, news channels, bloggers and the like are always paid to put good looks on certain stories.

This journalist dude will never get any interviews from a top public figure again. I hope he enjoys his 15 seconds of fame.

yes its possible that a British journo might take bribe, depending on the context, but not esspecially when people died, because if you live in the UK you may have heard about jimmy savile or the Rotheram case the investigating journo could have taken bribe but he was so Adamant the truth has to be told, and believe me as for not geting any interviews peharps in nigeria, but not in the UK he would be hero, if its takes only 15 minute of fame for the truth to be told so be it, try putting yourself in the place of the families of the dead perharps your views will change..peace!

Bro bribery is associated with secrecy. How many real bribery have you caught on tape?

The best you can do at this point is to ask for God's forgiveness publicly.
And you will be alone with the time comes.

Whatever you may say cannot take anything away from the prophet of God. Prophet TB Joshua's record in the work of love, charity, healing deliverance and prophecies has no close rival the world over. He has said God is on top of the situation, so the rantings of people like you and Ibekwe is inconsequential. Within a week of the SCOAN guest house collapse, the enemies of the people whom TB Joshua believes are responsible have been murdered in their hundreds never like before. Even almost all of their commanders including the dreaded Shekau have been killed one after the other lending credence to Prophet Joshua's assertion that God will get back at the perpetrators of the tragic event. Many of these militants are presently surrendering their arms in defeat to our soldiers. This is God at work.
You may continue to toe the way of unbelief, but its sure that the word of God as spoken through His annointed prophet cannot go void......... 'God is on top of the situation'

Blackmailing TB Joshua instead of writing his own version of how things went. The time may not have been appropriate according to Ibekwe and many others to give them money, but the fact remains the prophet cannot have an encounter with anyone without extending his givings. He is such a good giver at heart. It is a gift from God.
