my child 3 years enjoy Gari, sugar with groundnut more than any delicious food. she requested one day to go to school with gari for lunch. mind you we are not ijebu's. 1 Like |

Growing up, my mother was a busy nurse, and my father was this proper guy ...well, my mama's skills are many, but cooking up a storm isnt one of them   Well I used to relish the times my father would travel...cos the very next market she goes to after that, she would return and her first words would be, "are we gonna smoke?" And we would jump and dance and smoke Smoking....... drinking garri with ice cold water, sugar and pleeeeenty groundnuts (for protein, she would say) Well, none of us loved it with milk, so The next meal, it would be back to the grind of annoying vegetables and regular food Needless to say it, but my father would have burst an artery, or two, to see his amazing golden  children drinking garriHe didnt even knowwwww LOL 1 Like |

afolls: My niece loves it too She calls it "drinking garri", lol We discourage that shaa, but it was my fault she started, I absolutely spoil her rotten I am afraid, and would let her have some whenever I have it These days we have a compromise, "finish your beans, or whatever and you could have garri' Occasionally though.. and she would never take it with milk, just like me and my siblings  Genes dont lie |
