It seems we have better protocols for charging someone with DUI than we do about handling individuals coming from regions with Ebola.

Its both his and the hospitals fault. His for not being prudent to quarantine himself before showing any signs of symptoms and getting his "family" out of the apartment. Then the hospital's for not having their "light bulbs" turned on to react quickly to the situation.

At least the other doctor a few months back quarantined himself and made proper arrangements. This guy just settled in like he just came back from Rio.

So you can simply lie and get admission to the country from an area ravaged with a deadly virus - what could possibly go wrong?

Thomas Frieden, chief of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention really under estimated how fast this could spread!

What the hell is our government doing? I am out of my mind that we don't quarantine everyone coming into the country who originated in West Africa. Incoming pets, fruits and vegetables get a more thorough look! Better yet, put a travel ban in place - aid workers who go, plan on staying for awhile. And btw, who's paying the medical bills, and why isn't the media asking any of these questions?! It's all very fishy if you ask me.

They say it can't be spread unless the person is truly sick and you are in full contact with that person. But the kids he came in contact have showed no signs of Ebola. So why has the CDC order the school to be totally scrubbed clean. Something seems wrong here. Can you get it by just walk down a school hall 2 or 3 later. What's the truth?

Fruit bats are believed to be a carrier and may spread the virus without being affected. Once human infection occurs, the disease may spread between people, as well. Male survivors may be able to transmit the disease via semen for nearly two months.

This whole thing is as random as crap can get.

Just an assumption but maybe he knew he was exposed and wanted to be in the USA when the symptoms started. Although wrong, I'd want to have access to the healthcare here as opposed to West Africa.

This guy is selfish. He doesn't care about anything but himself. He knew he had Ebola, but refused to speak up at the hospital. If anyone else contracts this disease in America, he needs to be arrested and charged with attempted murder.

His first trip to the ER he had said he was from Liberia. The Texas hospital apparently didn't think that was a red flag. So, the responsibility lies with uninformed Hospital workers in Texas, at this point.

Liberia population 4.3million.
Total ebola cases in Liberia: 3696
Total ebola related deaths in Liberia: 1998
Those photos are really selective. So I wouldn't be to quick to judge on the conditions. I am going out on a limb here and assuming just like in most media releases we are seeing photos mainly from areas that are in poverty(more so than average).

number of doctors in liberia: 122
population of liberia: 4.3 million
population/doctors: 35246

number of doctors in los angeles county : 27500
population of los angeles county: 10 million
population/doctors: 364

35246 people rely on a single doctor. not to mention that they must be all in large cities, so there must be remote areas where millions of people simply don't have access to a doctor at all, so they can only see one when they have something very serious and they saved up enough money to pay someone to drive them to the city where hopefully one of those 122 doctors that need to deal with 4.3 million other people have time to see them. and given the fact that people live in poverty and misery, it increases the number of health problems, which means they need healthcare even more than those of us that are lucky enough to be living comfortably in first world countries.

so yeah, i am going out on a limb here and assume that people in liberia don't have very good access to healthcare and that it's not just the news channels exaggerating in order to try to trick you into being sad for them

NO..the responsibility lies with this Liberian man who knew he was exposed to ebola yet hopped a plane and flew to the US. This woman he was staying with also knew it and allowed him in. I have no sympathy for either of them and he should have to pay back every red cent of his medical expenses prior to having his visa permanently revoked.
I mean...who do you think is paying for all this....the taxpayers, of course. This woman is probably not even a citizen either. These people from all over the world coming to the US are killing us, possibly literally now.

I disagree, although the hospital did show incompetence it is also because they were in denial that Ebola could possibly be the problem. However i believe the responsibility falls mainly on our government that refuses to act on not only this disease infiltrating our country but refusing to keep our country free from invaders such as potential illegal immigrants turning out to be terrorist as well as delivering infectious diseases in to our country so easily. Blame our own government for endangering the American people.

Airlines are not responsible. They are told it is safe to fly there. The TSA, CDC, FAA, & State Department are all approving authorities on this and ENCOURAGE flights to the region.
