I think the man is dead and the "Ruling communist party" in Cuba are trying to spin this story to keep him alive, so that his brother can replace him.

I say the man is dead @ 80. I am also hoping he is dead.

I hope you were happy when Abacha died? U should wish death on Castro also. The Intestinal Crap is all spin. Nothing true comes out of Communist Cuba. I hope the CIA somehow got to Poison him while he was in Argentina. Please let us all pray for his death. Too many people have died under communist rule in Cuba.
Re: Poll: Is Fidel Castro Dead? by buchio7(m): 9:40pm On Aug 01, 2006
bros lets nt degress too much . we were talking abt castro n d news filtering in is dat d guy is in surgery, castro is like d proverbial cat with nine lives. america has pulled out all d stunts to pull d guy down from d bay of pigs invasion to d beautiful assasin who eventually fell in love with him n bore him sons all dese attempts failed so dont count on america to start larning new tricks nw.

What news? If the communist government and their National news agency combined tells you "Good Morning" . Make sure you go outside and look for your self. They have zero credibility. It is just like saying Saddam Hussein's Bath Party was credible. Well if you hear he died from surgery, then i guess we can agree he died a week ago. Cuba is known for propaganda, and i think for him to cede power to Raul for the first time in 46yrs, he must have already died.

Re: Poll: Is Fidel Castro Dead? by OldGlory1(m): 11:40pm On Aug 02, 2006
If he dies, as a symbol of his country, i think communism in Cuba will die with him. I think there would be a lot of reforms in Cuba. Let us pray he is dead!!
Re: Poll: Is Fidel Castro Dead? by buchio7(m): 11:47pm On Aug 02, 2006
dat argument really doesnt follow dont u also think dat maybe if he dies he becomes a symbol to other resident cubans of d great ideals of communism. d fact is dis wit castro dead dere is a protege in d wings to continue where he stopped.

I am sorry, but you are clueless. Cubans die in the Thousands to escape communism. I am sorry but if Castro falls, Communism in Cuba will eventually fall. I will bet $1000 on the statement. Once the USA starts exporting to Cuba, it is a wrap. Capitalism will prevail. I am not sure where you are getting your gist from, but from the Bloggers in Havana, dissidents in Little Havana, even MLB players, are all giddy about his death. Billions will pour in to reform that little Island and make it a beacon of change for the next generation. I am convinced now that Fidel is dead.
Re: Poll: Is Fidel Castro Dead? by shawna(f): 3:42pm On Aug 03, 2006
he is not dead. he has just gone through surgery and they said he is in a stable condition so u never know it might not be long be for he returns to power undecided

My bet stands, i will be in Abuja in December and can meet you in person and put up my money. My statement is that " If Fidel Castro dies, the faith of Communism in Cuba will die with him" Please tell me how and where to meet you. Communism will not last another 5yrs, there will be a revolution and probably a civil war. That war would most likely be initiated by dissidents in the USA. A free and Democratic change is on the way in Cuba. Mark my word "08-03-06"
Re: Poll: Is Fidel Castro Dead? by buchio7(m): 10:35pm On Aug 03, 2006
as ur presido o.b.j would say "i dey kampe" and let me further say that it will take more than rhetoric for communism to end in cuba. I am not a fan of either castro nor communism but i am realistic, communism /castro has outlived 7 u.s. presidents (kennedy, johnson, nixon, carter, reagan, bush, clinton). it will take more than wishful thinking to separate cuba n communism.

as for revolution, leave matter!!! do u remember elian? whos father came to d u.s. to take back his son? there are lots of ppl like dat in cuba who still have strong affinity to communism
Re: Poll: Is Fidel Castro Dead? by OldGlory1(m): 11:12pm On Aug 03, 2006
The ratio of people that are willing to leave Cuba, are about 10-1 the rate of those like Elians Father, who came to "Settle a Political Issue". But anyway i will revisit this topic when i am in ABJ and we can place our bets. You have no idea how people are oppressed in that country. You could not survive Communism, even with all your love for it. By the way Elian's dad would not have gone back if he had choice, but his family back home was held hostage and he had to put up a good face for communism. Remember Elian's Mother Died trying to come over to Florida. Many come to Florida on the "Wet Foot, Dry Foot Policy" and will never ever go back. Many others Die trying to escape that society. I am not sure which Love Cubans have for Castro?

Fidel Castro and Communism in Cuba may have survived seven US Presidents, but his death will bring a death to that batting average.
Re: Poll: Is Fidel Castro Dead? by buchio7(m): 11:32pm On Aug 03, 2006
my brother u said it all then, lets wait till he dies
Re: Poll: Is Fidel Castro Dead? by zebudaya(m): 9:34pm On Aug 08, 2006
Old Glory you watch too much CNN and I guess Bill Oreilly of Fox news is your hero

how can you wish death to castro. Castro is a legend forever. The U.S sanctioned him left right and center and refused to do trade with cuba all in the name of communism, But he stood up for what he believed in and Never gave up. The dude has outlasted 9 U.S presidents he is an icon. He's one of the few in the last 50 years who stood up to U.S agression and Imperialism and if he dies now so be it I hope he dies peacefully.

"But Cuba under his rule has made impressive domestic strides Good medical care is freely available for all, there is 98% literacy, and Cuba's infant mortality rates compare favourably with western nations." http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/244974.stm what more do you possibly want with all the economic blockades and sanctions?

and yet you keep listening to and believing the American propaganda. That stuff is info-tainment!
Re: Poll: Is Fidel Castro Dead? by OldGlory1(m): 10:05pm On Aug 08, 2006
Wow

I have people defending a Communist Leader of a country as a "Legend". Wonders shall always be in existence. If Cuba's Education system and Health care is so good, why is it's populous running away like flies? I do not need CNN or Bill Orielly to tell me that Communism is a failed system of Government. If he is such a legend, why doesn't he hold a free and fair election and have people vote him to continue or oust him?

Legend Huh? Zebudaya your Opinion is your opinion. I have to say i think it is a little misguided.Zebudaya i guess you will be relocating to Havana soon right? He is your Hero, you should go and enjoy his "Open and Free for All Society" with him. Flights leave from Toronto TO Havana every day of the week. Bon Voyage!!!
Re: Poll: Is Fidel Castro Dead? by zebudaya(m): 10:52pm On Aug 09, 2006
Australians, Britons,Mexicans even the French leave their countries to travel to the U.S and work does it mean that their countries are failed states? Even the devil tried to take over from God and was kicked out of heaven. Regardless of what a Ruler does there would always be people who oppose him and seek for greener pastures on the other side.

Communism failed okay no shakings, Nigeria is both Capitalist and Democratic where is the testimony? Most countries in the world are democratic and practice capitalism to an extent where is the testimony?
