The FEST 2014 - The First Ever Catholic Archdiocese Of Lagos Music Festival. by TheFEST: 2:52pm On Oct 16, 2014
[b]The FEST 2014, the first ever Catholic Family Music Festival, hosted at the Catholic Church of the Ascension, Int'l Airport, Ikeja has announced its music lineup for Saturday, November 1 from 9am to 4pm. The FEST features top, national Christian artists: Timi Dakolo (1st winner, IDOLS West Africa), Ben Ogbeiwi (Project Fame Music Director), Rosemary Chukwu, Prisca D'Nightingale, The FEST Choir (a selection of the best choristers in Lagos) and The Orji Family (of which every member is a chorister in the Church). The FEST is FREE and open to all in and around Lagos.

The FEST is a free, all-day event consisting of faith, fun, and family. The amazing, outdoor family festival is hosted and organized by the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos in partnership with Mystical Rose Media. Altogether, a team of about 300 volunteers are working to hold this event. At least 10,000 people are expected to grace this incredible day of inspiration and family fun.

The FEST also includes games, activities, giveaways, vendor displays for the whole family and more.

“We are excited to welcome such talented musicians to our stage to celebrate faith and family with members of the 150 parishes, 21 primary and 7 secondary schools of the Archdiocese of Lagos," said Talome Yadua, organizer for The FEST. “This year’s theme is 'The singing family praising God’ to emphasize, in this year of the family, how all of us should praise God as members of his one family.”

There will be a Family Clinic for families needing counselling to be led by Fr. Collins Akhigbe. The day will include the presense of religious congregations to answer attendees who might have questions about the religious life. There will also be a raffle draw at the end of the event with our lucky winners going home with a car, a generator, a smart phone and other consolation prizes.

The FEST opens with a Catholic Mass with the Bishop at 9am.

This maiden edition promises to be the highpoint in the year for thousands with free admission and lots of giveaways.

And Jude Nnam is not featuring in a CATHOLIC music festival in which 'top national christian artists' will perform. If we don't celebrate our own, nobody will do it for us. Just an observation

Thank you for your observation. Jude Nnam is certainly one of the foremost (if not the foremost) Catholic music performers in Nigeria. But you don't know why he is not among our performers for this year.

5 out of 6 (dozens, if your consider the number of the choristers) of our performers are Catholic, so I think it cant be said that we aren't celebrating our own.

A group of young Catholics have shed their sweat and blood to put this together. You can still join the team and help us bring Jude Nnam. It is not too late. We are looking forward to your contribution.

If we don't appreciate the efforts of our fellow young Catholics, nobody will do it for us.

On a lighter note, hope you can be there to enjoy the day of family, faith and fun.

God bless you.

We're working on airing it on TV, but it wont be live because we want people to be there live.
