NON-INDIGENOUS GROUPS IN LAGOS ENDORSE AKINWUNMI AMBODE’S GOVERNORSHIP AMBITION

Tectono Business Review has gathered that two ethnic groups, the Lagos Coalition of Northern Indigenes and the Niger Delta United Front have thrown their weights behind the governorship ambition of Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, the erstwhile Accountant-General of Lagos State, as he formally declares his governorship aspiration today under the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC).

This was expressed in separate press statements by the Lagos Coalition of Northern Indigenes and the Niger Delta United Front, both pledging to rally support for Ambode to enable him triumph in next month’s APC governorship primaries and the eventual election in February 2015.

In its statement, the Lagos Coalition of Northern Indigenes explained that its endorsement of Ambode’s governorship aspiration was due to his leadership qualities and previous achievements. The statement said the coalition endorsed the aspirant because of his broad national outlook, which gives him the advantage over others to rule a cosmopolitan state like Lagos.

The statement noted the governorship aspirant’s social welfare programmes for the needy, especially indigent residents of Lagos, aspiring entrepreneurs, youths and vulnerable wemen.

Let’s watch if the godfather of Lagos politics, Ashiwaju Bola Tinubu, will also throw his weight behind Mr. Ambode because any aspirant he supports will eventually emerge the governor come 2015. Another question is will Tinubu trust Ambode to open the state treasury for him if he (Ambode) becomes the governor?

Here we have civilized people that understand the concept of diplomacy, trying to ingratiate themselves before the next(?) Governor of Lagos.

However, i know a certain tribe who would rather ridiculously boast about how they own 99% of the properties in Lagos and how they constitute 101% of the Lagos population
