Boko Haram, Conspiracies, Politics and the future

The worst thing about the Boko Haram crisis are the conspiracy theories. All of which are wrong. In the North, you are likely to hear that it is sponsored by the government, this is wrong. Southerners would often repeat the term 'northern elders', also wrong. The PDP spokespersons will blame APC and APC will blame PDP. Jonathanians would blame Buhari and Buharists will blame GEJ. Everyone of the above is wrong.

Boko Haram is an ideological organization and has little to do with local politics. They hate PDP as much as they hate APC. They are all part of a system that they despise. The sooner we understand Boko Haram the easier, we can unite to fight it. And, do not think you are safe because you live in southern Nigeria. Boko Haram's goals transcends borders.

Conspiracy theories are distractions that we do not need at this time.

They hate christians and they hate muslims who do not agree with them. There is no room for rational conversations with them. They will kill a muslim soldier and a christian soldier. They will kill a muslim civilian and a christian civilian.

These are some tweets by Ahmed Salkida, a known expert on Boko Haram:

Politicians r not involved in d ideological BH that r responsible for about 90% of d violence in Nigeria & Cameroun #WhatdoesBHwant

The FG's only crime here in my opinion is how they have so far mismanaged d crisis #WhatdoesBHwant

Cease-fires

This is another blunder of the government, Boko Haram is ceasing lands and you are looking to beg them for cease-fires. Why would BH want a cease-fire. Nigeria has to be in a position of power before any attempted negotiation, that way, you dictate the terms. Enough of this cease-fire nonsense, We need to stop the bleed and get on the offensive.

There is no doubt that the Government has mismanaged this but we have a chance to get it right.

STOP PLAYING POLITICS WITH BOKO HARAM.

A word is enough for the wise.
