That is not the problem. The problem is that you married someone you don't know anything about.

She comes from a good home, she is very humble (how did you know), she is a virgin, she is very traditional and she is beautiful. So, let us marry her.

You married her and now she has seen the "light" and wants to explore.

All am saying is that most of them abroad marry for all the wrong reasons.

Btw, Op that post is too long.
I agree with you. Greed and lust most atimes are responsible for this. If marriage is an institution, idealy the foundation demand a solid work or support. But rushing down just to 'pick' any available woman on the advise and scouting of your family will always boomerang. The age difference many times is scary. And to think their are more mature and responsible African or Nigerian women there who appreciate the value of marriage is a cause for concern. Overall, the western law on marriage and divorce is harsh enough to push men over perpetual bachelorhood.

yes, i read it.
and i am divulging a secret secret to you men.

all women know this. that is why when you first marry us, we do anything you say.

you stop cooking, you stop sweeping, you even stop going to the market.
we pick small quarrel with you and you start coming in the midnight hour.
before you know it, you are a stranger in your own house.
and we are in control.

if you doubt me, tell you wife that you will cook this evening.
notice how she will react.
that means you want to be incharge again.

No.. No.... You're going out of context here. We don't know what their domestic life is like. Some other problem maybe in play here.

Spot on bro. Nobody takes time to know anybody. That style might have worked in our parents generation but it is not advisable with the vanity of today's world.
So, stop coming back home to pick the current village belle and then start ranting how she z not who you think she is, when you don't even know her in the first instance.

They rush down to marry women that they can lord over against love. Where love is absence there's bound to be chaos. It's a marriage of interest and covenient where the woman is trained to support the man's life style at her expense.

African culture is different from western culture. Its the wife responsibility to do the house chores and do all the cooking. A husband can assist his wife when she get overwhelm with house chores. If those women play their role as African wife while living in Europe their marriage will last. Most women living in US and Europe don't obey their husband and it leads to problem in the marriage

One would expect those folks who have schooled abroad, who have seen the greener pastures and all the things people flock there for to be more sensible.

Some of them are learned, professors and what have you, yet they keep making this mistake frequently.

I can bet you [Tit or Tit-ties, whatever your name is]
1. are unmarried

2. Not yet 22yr old

3. Were not raised by ur mother [ u prolly grew up in an orphanage- no offense meant and shout outs to them orphans].
Cos she should have taught/raised u better.
Who derailed you?

4. are a pseudo-xtian or pseudo-religious lady with no ounce of virtue.
Read about the virtuous woman Proverbs 31

5. are obsessed with fantasies from some licentious romance novel
[ keep fantasizing, ur prince in shining armour and rainboots on a horse will come some
day, steal u away and do all the above for u]

5. are a wannabe feminist [ O.Y.O for ur type in Africa - relocate abroad and get married to a
white man- I bet u'll be his slave]

6. are in an existential identity crisis

Finally.
You could use a guidance counselor. You need help

PS
---
I sorry for the lady wey wan take domesticity make yanga for me

1. I'm a fvcking excellent cook[both local and foreign recipes]
Started cooking since I was 7.
I sabi pastries and baking well well also.

I find it diff to eat out bc even them Mr/Mrs. Biggs are just specialists in
food flavouring and colouring
Eating out or food cooked by someone else
ruins my next two days as I suffer from 'eater's remorse'
Hence I don't allow any girl or guy cook for me.
Honestly, I know say this thing dey pain/vex woman, but
I go rather make she vex dan say I suffer indigestion/remorse.

2. Laundry and house cleaning - I'm an expert
Attended a boarding school so those things are child's play to me.
I derive pleasure from doing them.
And I do not allow ANYONE do my washing or dishes
cos no one can do so to my satisfaction/standards.
[ I'm a kind of perfectionist]
Enuf said.

So ladies make una no just think say una go
fit do man like me favour because una do chores.
Cos e hard for woman to meet my standards of domesticity.
All my guys dey complain sef, say me and my wife go get plenty quanta
for kitchen and domestic affairs.

This reminds me of one episode of Everybody hates Chris
The father lost his job and was home for about 2wks to 1 month
He did all the domesticity before the mother returned from work and so surpassed her that
the kids, every time, spoke so highly of their father and questioned their mother
They said things like this;
Mom, this food is so delicious. How come you don't cook like this
The spoon is so clean I can see my reflection in it
The house is so arranged....

The mother was so frustrated and the home was about to break up
Look for the movie and know how the story ends.

*Geti me a yerrow tall girl u. nna enh when i bring am everybody go bow* Garbage in garbage out. Both parties mostly marry with wrong childish motives and later start scheming to get the motive established but since its easier for the female to achieve their scheming they appear to be the sole culprits. Some males do lots of evil too, like prostituting the 'wife' .

I cannot recall how many marital problems involving Nigerians in the U.K that I knew that failed from those that went home, both male and female to marry someone they barely knew back home, only for both to realise that they have made a huge mistake.
My advice to the young generation is always to marry someone you knew a bit and who knew you a bit too and as you embark on a journey of life time discovering each other. As after 40+ years of marriage my wife still surprises me.lol
I left home after the war to arrive in England after my 20th birthday, and prior, I never had a girlfriend, never kissed girls, talk less of sleeping with anyone for the first time.

So I knew nobody of the opposite sex intimately back home enough to come home and marry, hence my mother insistence that I come home and get a wife sounded foreign to me then.
And I was right to defy my mother and marry a young, intelligent and very loving white Scottish girl I met through a friend.
And 40+ years later, she is still my wife and the only woman I have ever kissed and slept with. A mother and grandmother of my beloved children and grandchildren.
A good wife or a good husband is not about where they come from, it’s about marrying your best friend, who will jump into the ocean for you because he/she loved you. In conclusion, most Nigeria women abuse the law set out to protect women against abusive men, use it to destroy their own life and that of their husband, thinking that it’s liberation, only to realise years later what a fool they’ve been and Nigerian men that think that a wife means a servant and dare not treat their wife as they will treat themselves and end up messing their marriage up.

In the mountains we maintain harem of females who serve us with food and sex when we return from game hunt. Females who dont meet this obligation are clubbed mercilessly and relegated to slaves. I dont know where you wall dwellers learnt how to be so soft to the extent of arguing with mere baby-borners sad

And you feel its good that way? So why complain na? You are no better than those you are fighting against. Oh I get it, you are not fighting for equal treatment of both sexes, you are fighting for men to be given the right to abuse their women.

did your holy book say you should leave your house to your servant?

Anuofia...did ur own holy book say wives are servants? undecided

Females advocate for gender equality everyday, everywhere, yet ur here saying women are servants.

A wife is not a servant,a wife is a partner.in a situation where the mans means of getting food on d table is very demanding, she has to protect the house and their future (kids).

There you have it; those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it:

"Yes I have killed the woman that messed up my life; the woman that has destroyed me. I am at Shalom West. My name is David and I am all yours.” Those were David Ochola’s words during his 911 (U.S. Emergency Number) call to authorities after shooting dead his 28 years old wife, Priscilla Ochola, in Hennepin, Minnesota. The 50-years old husband was tired of being “disrespected” by his wife, a Registered Nurse (RN) whom he had brought from Nigeria and sponsored through nursing school only to have her make much more than him in salary - a situation which led to Mrs. Ochola “coming and going as she chose without regard for her husband.” The couple had two children – four years old boy and a three years old girl. . . . . .
www.saharareporters.com/2014/01/22/epidemic-nigerian-men-killing-their-nurse-wives-us-abiodun-ladepo

I read the story several months ago but I just found a link. I honestly hope that my acquaintance doesn't end up like that; I know he has a violent streak. . . . Well, even a 'gentleman' like me might lose it if this sort of stuff ever happens to me. Fortunately, I'll never be in that situation; I'm too skeptical of these 'species' to give even Mother Teresa (God bless her soul) the benefit of the doubt.

The day Nigeria men learn to treat their wives like they want their mothers and sisters treated, our homes will have less problems.
Wow, I can't believe I'm agreeing with this demon...

Nigerian men are mostly very chauvinistic and egotistical. They need to learn how to treat women like jewels. Nigerian women also need to learn how to stop acting like men. Both parties are usually very aggressive and rarely have "soft" sides to them.
