A Taraba State High Court, on Friday, in Jalingo nullified the medical panel set up by the Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assemby, Mr Josiah Kente, to investigate the health status of Governor Danbaba Suntai.

Justice Silas Haruna, in a five-hour judgement, said the action of the state’s executive council and the state assembly in setting up the panel was a usurpation of the judicial process.

Haruna held that Suntai had already filed a suit before the state high court challeging the decision of the House of Assembly to stop him from resuming duty after he transmitted a letter to that effect on August 26.

Section 189 of the 1999 Constitution as amended is very clear on the procedure to remove a Governor or Deputy Governor from office due to permanent incapacity.
Why politicians who are mostly lawyers always want to jump the gun is what I still don't understand..

Nigerian politicians prefer to die in their position even when they know they are not in go shape for the position.

It is a dismable pitiable situation,but d fact is dat Suntai's cognitive aticulacy has been greatly impaired by dat accidnt, but d problem is not Suntai himslf,but some unscrupulous nonentities dat have not succeeded in disembowelin d treasury of dat state, Suntai is goin tru hell ryt now, i pity dat mental poverty striken man!

Mr Suntai should man up and give up the throne, health comes first. Don't act like the late yar'adua of blessed memory he was a man of vision for the country though.
