In igbo education system you serve your teacher for six years while you learn and on graduation you will be empowered with finance and ur academic mateials like goods and shop and u dont pay fees but in the western education u pay fees while learning and after u would be pushed into the world without any sort of empowerment, you become a burden to your host society immediately.....so tell me which is a better education system? forget packaging o

The western education is the best because it exposes you to the world and also gives you an idea to manage the Igbo education system properly, while the Igbo education is restricted only to some specific field yearning for the ideas from the western education to make that field blossom. Igbo bu Igbo, mma mma nu!!!

Do you mean apprenticeship system? cos certainty there is no such education system in the east.

Ever heard the word Apprenticeship or Traineeship?
In industries like O&G, Aerospace Engineering, or Manufacturing, the apprenticeship route is always an easy way of breaking into such industries. It serves as a medium through which both OJT(on the job training) and experience could be gained in any industry.
The west practices that system. I see nothing wrong with it.

the igbo system also gives u a level of exposure cos a lawyer can hardly outsmart a motor parts seller in the course of his business but if u are a regular follower of issues u may not be easily outsmarted by a western educated person. Most of the people that control the economy of Nigeria are people educated with that igbo system

you are quite right, because its that smartest in Igbo that gives them edge over a western educated folk. But I thought the Igbo system of education you meant is the 'apprenticeship' type?
