Engr. Hakeem Akinola Gbajabiamila was born on June 19, 1959 in Olowogbowo area, Lagos Island, in Lagos State, Nigeria.
He attended Ansar-ud- deen primary school, Alakoro in Lagos Island and proceeded to Eko Boys High School, Mushin, Lagos for secondary education from January 1971 to June 1975. On completion of his WAEC O’ Level examination, he enrolled at the Federal school of Art and Science, Victoria Island for advance level where he spent 1year before proceeding to the United State of America in September 1976 to study Civil Engineering.

Engr. Gbajabiamila attended southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, Illinois from September 1976 to May 1981, graduating with Bachelor of Science among the top graduate of his class. He proceeded to one of the ivy-league engineering school in the United State. Washington University in St. Louis Missouri, for his Masters’ degree also in Civil Engineering. In May 1983, Engr. Gbajabiamila bagged his Master of Science degree in flying colours.

Although during his graduate program, Engr. Gbajabiamila worked part-time with an Architect-Engineering Firm, Randle Flagg inc., in October 1983, he commenced his career in Paris, France with an international construction Company Bernard Construction.
Engr. Gbajabiamila returned to Nigeria in April 1985 and did his National Youth Corp Service. He worked with the defunct Lagos State Waste Disposal Board.
Engr. Gbajabiamila has over 30 years extensive managerial experience in civil engineering projects, construction management, housing, urban regeneration and development, corporate governance, public administration and governance.

He has proven leadership capability in change management programmes in public and private sectors. He is the Chairman, Projectscope Limited. a civil engineering and building construction company in Lagos, Nigeria.
He has remarkable track records in high profile positions as consultant, programme administrator, honourable commissioner, political strategist and business executive.

He is an alumnus of Lagos Business School, Lagos, Nigeria and the Harvard University, Kennedy School of Government, Mass, USA.

The Gbajabiamila are not new to the services of their motherland . Among the Gbajabiamilas who have served the state selflessly was Late Alhaji Lateef A. Gbajabiamila , a Lagos State Magistrate Judge. Barrister Mustapha K. Gbajabiamila was also a commissioner of finance in Lagos State .
It was into this distinguished family that Hakeem Akinola was born some 55 years ago in the Olowogbowo area of Lagos Island .
Hakeem’s mother , Alhaja Abike Gbajabiamila is a well known grassroot political leader of repute in Lagos state .
All these testify to Hakeem’s political pedigree and show that he is not new to the call to public to public duty, which obviously runs in the family

@adadadom...Yea he did, no one is disputing that. He became the Commissioner for Physical Planning during the second term of former Governor Bola Tinubu and at that time, the entire physical planning of the state was part of his portfolio and for a fact he was able to put a lot of things in place. why not try and do more research about him.
