king05:I dunno about NECO. I used WAEC. For translation, you have two options I hope I won't be flaunting any rules giving you these details though. First option http://www.traduccion-jurada-oficial.com I hope this helps and also hope you've got the nerves to see the process through cause boy would you need them. |
misstoyo:Meh how did you get that far? I'm like 3 steps away though from application. What school and what city are you looking at? Would have liked to have a kind of private chat but the mod would have nothing to do with that. I just have a couple of grey areas I'd like to clear... |
I am still legalizing my documents. How I wish I have submitted my application. The whole thing is too involved. With respect to the accommodation, I booked down a room and they issued me a certificate that said I had accommodation for a certain period. I did this because my school ain't got no accommodation. What school are you looking at? IE? At some point, I was really looking for companions on here. I wish you came in earlier would have saved me a lot really. It is well though. Cheers!!! |
aariwa:To be sure, I don't have details with respect to what you ask for. My potential School is a graduate School of Economics. Cheers!!! |
WAEC verification. For me it seems the whole thing is unending. I had to go WAEC office at Yaba. Opposite the gate you would see a woman that can do the affidavit thingy for you. I did not use her anyhow. Mine was a bit complex but the price she will charge is N1,500. You need to go with two envelops. The whole affair should cost you no more than N15,000. Break down is N1,500 for affidavit, N10,000 for the verification proper and varying sums for posting. I was posting to Lagos so I used UPS for N450. This whole visa application is very involved if you ask me. I really don't understand and I am now wondering if Spain is heaven or something. This is probably why very few people are interested in going to Spain. It is also very expensive (relatively though on account of what I consider expensive being only a paltry sum for Dangote). PS: NEVER USE AN AGENT!!! |
muztapha:He needed to help me with the authentication because it is one of the requisites before visa application. Yes I reckon you can apply for visa from Abuja. Are you still interested with the visa thingy? I daresay you should start applying on time because the process is very long. |
So I sent my documents to my friend in Abuja to help me authenticate which he did, cool buddy, gave him 20k which was about what he spent less transport and all. He said he spent 6k at the ministry of education. Probably spent 3k for WAEC scratch card and the rest to stamp my transcript and Bsc certificate. Said he spent 1,500 per document at Ministry of foreign affairs. I sent him 9 documents. Putting things in perspective, my school abi potential school asked me to legalize Bsc and transcript. Of course you have to authenticate before legalizing. Note: The Spanish embassy specifically asks to put the seal on all originals save WAEC and Bsc. Hope this helps someone. |
sdavirus:Thanks bro! |
justwise:Yes boss! |
Seunbunmi:I replied. I reckon the mod deleted mine too. Possibly because you included your email or so. Dunno. So I think translation should be for long stay. VFS processes short stays. Yes you'd be issued a schengen visa. |
@Seunbunmi coincidentally the parent university of Graduate School of Economics is UAB. |
justwise:Of course we can't discuss everything on here. I'd do my best to post all the process here but some discussions should definitely be private. I hope you get my flow... |
Illiteracy is pervasive in Nigeria. It really beggars believe that someone would blatantly make wholesale tribalistic comments without restraint or recourse to reasoning. Reading these boards, I keep wondering whether the governor being of same extraction as himself would make any difference to him. I keep telling folks, the North has led Nigeria for upwards of 50% since we gained independence and yet Northern Nigeria can hardly be classified as anything close to Eldorado. Some people blithely refuse to see the truth. It seems tribalism or in this case base clannish sentiments has pulled wool over their eyes. Its totally embarrassing to say the least! |
UcheStar:Thank heavens we still have sensible people who can rise above tribal abi clanish sentiments. |
muztapha:Quite ambiguous but I'd try. I'm done with undergraduate studies. I'm working class. I'm enrolling into Barcelona Graduate School of Economics. |
stewiepeter:I saw this coming. I know it was for a school in Norway. At the very least, I can read. So I was just asking for further info on what actually transpired. There is limited info for Spanish student visa so I just adapt what I get from students moving to other Schengen countries for studies. Cheers!!! |
stewiepeter:Apologies but I can you please throw more light on the accommodation thingy. I am not going to Norway, headed for Spain, and they make this full year accommodation requirement. How do they want me to pay this full fee when I am not guaranteed a visa, have not seen the place and can't get a refund. You said you registered with a link what link? and who sent this said link? Thanks. |
For insurance you can use AIICO. Parted ways with N34,700. The actual price for a year is 30,800 but I had to factor in a like 5 days before and after the duration of the academic session. Dunno if I was right in this but what can I do when I could not get info from anyone. |
muztapha:Finally, I caught someone's attention. Phew!!! Well, I am applying for a Masters so I don't really know much about an undergraduate degree; but at first blush I would be inclined to say it's standard across board. That is $1,000.00 per month with school fees already paid. What I am struggling with is requirement 8. I think that requirement is unnecessary after asking for $1,000.00. My thinking is that accommodation is included in $1,000.00 per month. I can help you out if you have further issues because it seems I am a touch ahead of you with the processing. That's not to say I don't have my own challenges which I reckon are a bit overwhelming for me. Cheers!!! |
For police report, just head for Force CID at Alagbon in Ikoyi Lagos. Did mine in less than 30 mins but had to part ways with N10,500.00. Feel I was cheated as I didn't negotiate properly and tipped 1k. In fact he positively refused to collect it without 2k tip. In retrospect I think it was a ruse to make me think it was the actual price. I also think the N500 topped on it served the same purpose. If I should go back to process it again, I'd bid him for 5k. Problem is that I don't think there is any official price for this document which leaves room for all this crap. |
Well, I think to answer my question above, any General Hospital in Nigeria would suffice. This is what I did specifically used the general hospital at Marina and parted ways with N7,500 should have bargained to get better value in retrospect. Hope this helps someone. I would just make updates here so that people like me in the future won't be clutching at straws for info. regards, |
Meh I don't know if I was scammed but I did mine for N10,200. I didn't bargain sha. Ended up tipping the guy 1k. I'm regretting sha as d moni no too plenti like that. |
Do you know if there is a special hospital that the embassy prefers? I need to do my medicals. I contacted them but they are yet to respond. |
tdayof:Depends on the degree he is pursuing. For me I am looking at a Masters and the minimum balance is about N2.5 Million according to my school. Worked that out from $1,000 per month. |
This space is too quiet but I'm dead certain I'm not blazing a new trail as the tranquility would suggest Fellow Nairalanders please help the needy... |
I noticed that there is little or nothing on this topic. i just want this to gain some traction as I know myself and a few other people are interested. I will bell the cat by starting with the below even though I believe it to be at the very best complicated. That was the response I got from the embassy after I sent an email. Hi guys, please I need help with details probably from someone who has done it before of the actual process(not the generic list usually dished out) of applying for a spanish visa. Info on this is few and far between on the internet and NL. |
Amongst other things, I would like to know which hospital provides medical certificate for the Spanish embassy, how much this costs, how much legalization of documents would most likely cost, how much interpretation of documents would cost and a couple of other queries... |
muztapha:I have scoured the internet and Nairaland and I couldn't get sufficient info about student visas to spain. Had to join NL just to link up with the first person that seems to be interested in a Spanish student visa on NL. Pls can you inbox me or something. I intend going to Barcelona this fall but the process seems to be too cumbersome. I already have like 70% of the info you need. |
