Seeing any of these movies alone, you either cover your eyes with your hands or using anything available, or you turn off the TV and run out of the room.

1. EVIL DEAD (1981).

The Evil Dead focuses on five Michigan State University students. Ash Williamsand his girlfriend Linda, accompanied by Ash's sister Cheryl, their friend Scotty, and his girlfriend Shelly, who venture into the Tennessee hills to vacation in an isolated cabin for their spring break. They soon run into trouble, first narrowly avoiding another motorist, then having a sudden scare as the bridge near the cabin begins to collapse as they cross. That night, while Cheryl is making a drawing of a clock, her hand becomes violently possessed by a mysterious entity, causing her to draw a picture that looks like a deformed, evil face. She fails to mention the incident to the others, dismissing it as her imagination.

2. NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (2010).

Kris Fowles (Katie Cassidy) goes to the Springwood Diner to meet with her boyfriend, Dean Russell (Kellan Lutz), who falls asleep at the table and meets a man covered in burn scars, wearing a red and green sweater, afedora and a clawed glove on his hand. The burned man cuts Dean's throat in the dream, but in reality it appears that Dean is cutting his own throat as his friend, waitress Nancy Holbrook(Rooney Mara), looks on with Kris. At Dean's funeral, Kris sees a photograph of her and Deanas children, but cannot recall ever knowing Dean before high school. Kris begins to dream about the burned man herself and refuses to go to sleep for fear that she will die in her dreams. Jesse Braun (Thomas Dekker), Kris's ex-boyfriend, shows up at her house to keep her company while she sleeps, but Kris meets the burned man in her dreams and is murdered. Covered in blood, Jesse runs to Nancy's house to try to explain what happened and he learns that Nancy has been having dreams about the same man.

3. THE RING (2002).

Katie Embry (Amber Tamblyn) and her friend Becca (Rachael Bella) are having a sleepover in Becca's home. Becca recounts the story of a supposedly cursed videotape. Anyone who watches the tape gets a mysterious phone call and then dies seven days later. Katie reveals that she had watched the tape the previous week. The phone rings, startling the girls, but it is only Katie's mom. After talking with her mother, Katie returns upstairs and dies.

4. EXORCIST (1973).

Lankester Merrin is a veteran Catholic priest who is on an archeological dig inIraq. In Iraq he finds an amulet which resembles the statue ofPazuzu, a demon who Merrin defeated years ago. Merrin then realizes the demon has returned to get his revenge.

5. SILENT HILLS (2006).

Rose and her husband, Christopher Da Silva, are concerned about their adopted daughter, 9-year old Sharon, who has been sleep walking while calling the name of a Ghost town, "Silent Hill". Desperate for answers, Rose takes Sharon to Silent Hill. As they approach the town, she is pursued by a police officer Cybil Bennett to turn back. A mysterious child appears in the road, causing Rose to swerve and crash the car, knocking herself unconscious. When she awakens, Sharon is missing, while fog and falling ash blanket the town.

The Ring (American Version) scared me for 3 days straight. Couldn't prevent me from watching the original Japanese version though. I wasn't able to sleep with the lights off for close to a week after that.

6. THE OTHERS (2001).

Grace Stewart (Nicole Kidman) is a devout Roman Catholic mother who lives with her two small children in a remote country house in theBritishCrown DependencyofJersey, in the immediate aftermath of World War II. The children, Anne (Alakina Mann) and Nicholas (James Bentley), have an uncommon disease,xeroderma pigmentosum, characterized byphotosensitivity, so their lives are structured around a series of complex rules to protect them from inadvertent exposure to sunlight. Grace herself suffers frommigraine attacks. 7. DESCENT 1&2(2005).

Juno (Natalie Mendoza), Sarah (ShaunaMacdonald) and Beth (Alex Reid) are whitewater rafting in Scotland. Sarah's husband Paul (Oliver Milburn) and their daughter Jessica (Molly Kayll) wave and cheer from the bank. Juno is seen talking intimately with Paul by Beth. On the drive back to their hotel, Paul is distracted, causing a collision. Paul andJessica are killed, but Sarah survives.

One year later, Juno, Sarah, Beth, Sam (MyAnna Buring) and Rebecca (Saskia Mulder) are reunited at a cabin in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina, USA. Holly (Nora-Jane Noone), Juno's new friend, is introduced. As they reminisce over an old photo of Juno, Sarah, and Beth, Sarah says"Love each day", explaining that it was a saying of her late husband's.The next morning the group goes spelunking. When the group breaks for lunch in a huge gallery, Juno tearfully apologises to Sarah for not being there for her after the accident, but Sarah is distant. As the group moves through the next passage it collapses behind them, with Sarah barely making it through. After a heated discussion, Juno admits that she has led them into an unknown cave system, instead of the fully explored cave system they planned for. The only people who were told about their expedition think they are at the other cave system, making rescue impossible. They are trapped with no way out. Privately, Juno tells Sarah that she led them into the unknown cave hoping to restore their relationship, but Sarah rebuffs her. The group discovers a cave painting and climbing equipment from a previous visitor, suggesting a second exit exists.Juno keeps the latter secret, allowing for the group to remain hopeful for survival.

9. JEEPERS CREEPERS 1&2 (2001).

Billy Taggart (Shaun Fleming) assists his father in erecting scarecrows throughout the corn field. When one of the scarecrows suddenly moves, he notices the talons on its feet,and runs back towards the farm, yelling for help, only for the scarecrow to leap into the air and pounce on him. As his father, Jack Taggart Sr. (Ray Wise), and his older brother, Jack Taggart Jr. (Lake Edwards), rush to his aid the scarecrow drags Billy through the field before sprouting wings and flying off into the sky, as Jack Sr. and Jack Jr. watch helplessly.The following day, a school bus carrying a high school football team and cheerleaders back from the state championships suffers a blowout. The chaperons inspect the tire, which they discover has been torn apart by a hand-crafted shuriken made of bone fragments. Back on the Taggart farm, Jack Jr. finds a dagger left by The Creeper. When his father inspects it, it inexplicably flies out of his hand on its own accord.

10. HOUSE OF WAX (2005).

In 2005, some colleges students in two cars, Carly (Elisha Cuthbert) her twin brother, Nick (Chad Michael Murray) her boyfriend, Wade (Jared Padalecki) her best friend, Paige (ParisHilton) Paige's boyfriend, Blake (Robert Richard) and Nick's friend, Dalton (Jon Abraham) are on their way to a highly anticipated football game in Louisiana. Night falls and the group decides to set up camp for the night very close to a ghost town..

Jamie disregards this and leaves to get dinner. Lisa plays around with Billy and poses in the mirror. Then all the sounds disappear and Billy comes to life, attacking Lisa. Later Jamie finds Lisa dead with her tongue ripped out, and Billy lying near her body. Jamie discovers that Billy belonged to Mary Shaw, a ventriloquist from his hometown of Ravens Fair.

17. The Hills Have Eyes 1-2 (2006).

Soldiers, civilians, traveller being haunted and stalked by a group of psychotic people who live in the desert mountain, far away from civilization.
