Seriously. Is it a law of the nature that everything "living" must age & die?
During the evolution of living species, did some mutation suddenly occur that generated an internal clock that determines lifespan

does there have to be one? Why can't we continuously grow new cells replacing old ones & live forever

so why aren't we immortal. Also, are there any ways of extending lifespan significantly

Can't we find scientifically the causes that kill us gradually and kill that cause... to make it possible to live forever?

I hope they will also fill us in on what they think happens after death.

Science will eventually find an answer to this question. That's inevitable. In fact, several centuries from now, our kins will wonder how we could have missed the answer to immortality. It eventually be a choice to die and leave this earth. By that time of course, Christianity will no longer be relevant.

At this moment, we can only but continue seeking the answers while we accept death as the end of things.

Science will eventually find an answer to this question.

Physical scientists deem death only as "a state of disrepair".

i.e death is a reflection of the ability of current science to reverse "malfunction", and nothing peculiar to the organism.

As far as science is concerned, you could put the organism in a blender, and if you had sophisticated enough tools you could reverse the resulting smoothie into a functioning organism again.

In science, the declaration of death is social thing, signalling closure and the intent that no further resources shall be employed in "reversing the state of disrepair".

Thank you for listening.

what does it matter.. Death? why not leave a worthy, progressive legacy when you are alive rather than cement your biased minds around who is righteous, which religion qualifies you for heaven and which church is the right one. if there is an after-life, would you not be concerned that the same worldly elements and mindset we struggle to rid ourselves off in this world is also present in the life after.

Death happens and nothing afterwards, if you are Christian, ask yourself this? The Children of God - Israel; Jews (Why we all know about God today) do not believe in an after-life.. why not peel your eyes away from the pages of the Bible to validate it with Factual History

Whatever it is, we're not going to remember this life. We could end up as food for the worms, relive this sh)it over in a loop without any prior memory, or end up in utopia somewhere.

Death is part of the cycle of life. Humans, animals and "gods" die.

Death is an ideal way to escape this planet. An escape to another reality through black holes,or a return to a new life.

You will find this interesting: http://www.elijahwald.com/origin.html

The gist of it is that not every living thing dies. Singles celled organisms don't die, they simply divide in two and proceed. What if we, humans, are simply doing the same thing, through a different process?

So you can continually grow new cells, just not the way you prefer.

Of course, if it's your personal identity you wish to retain forever, well...You'd likely get bored and commit suicide anyway.

To die or not to die...frankly I'd rather have it like a vampire, sleep a hundred years and be awake another hundred. A very long life would be nice, but the option of death is also essential.

Forget about religion.

The question was what's your view on death?

You should be able to give a reasonable response without involving 'religion.'

Or are your thoughts just geared towards opposing religion?

What if religion did not exist? Your worldview would be empty?

Death is one of stages in our cycle of existence and not the end. No energy is destroyed but converted to other forms. All living things die and the kind of life we live will decide what being we going to become in our next life, either lesser or higher being. The grasses, trees, wild animals, man, birds will all die the day they lost the energy In them. The wicked ones on earth now will eventually come back to the same earth to pay for their sins by becoming either a fruit bearing tree, a medicinal herb, or as edible shrubs, or as domestic animals to serve as food for man as a retribution. So there is neither heaven nor hell. Different forces govern this world just as we have governors of states, but here they have the utmost power to decide what goes on in his planet without answering to anyone.

You already have my answer. Your question is without purpose unless you have it hidden behind your back waiting to spring it out. Asking about Life is purposeful because we can do something about it. I tire when I see questions like this. The intent is already known.

My questions are - why will somebody prefer to be called an animal that just happens to be intelligent instead of an image of the Almighty God?
Why will you prefer to believe you will die like a foul without purpose instead of being part of the divine and eternal purpose?
Why will you prefer to see yourself end up as food for maggot instead of rising back to life and living for eternity?
Why do you prefer to be spiritually died instead of being in Christ with the hope of glory?

Well the answer to the question of the Op is that spiritual death is the reason our cells stop regenerating and seen science is not spiritual it will never ever find a cure for this problem. You can dream, you can try but it all a waist of time. The Bible tell us the Jesus himself will put death in hell when he comes (1Cor 15:26 & Rev 20:14).

But for my questions try asking yourself because finding the right answers will open your eyes.
