Most of the countries you show photos of their glittering airports practice Regional govt system with Fiscal federalism. The regions build and maintain their regional airports.

But here, some Nigerians clutch tightly to unitary govt system where Abuja has to collect revenues (mainly oyel money only) to build and maintain infrastructure all over Nigeria, then share the rest to states. Did Washington DC, US seat of power, build and maintain JFK airport and other beautiful airports in the US?

Hands off unitary govt in Nigeria, embrace regional govts, let the regions build their airports and other facilities to their taste, internal competition to build the best shall then follow.

But you guys will never allow regionalism and fiscal federalism, because of huge taste for Oyel money, instead, brainwash some gullible Nigerians to get apex political power using ever tactic in the book.

The JKIA greenfield Terminal or Terminal 3 which will have its own runway(s), dedicated Railway, highway will be able to handle 20 million Passengers annually compared to 6 million passengers that the current JKIA airport can handle. It will have one of the biggest open ground spaces (for passernger traffic) an airport can have Construction already begun this year..

All these projects have been fast tracked to be completed before schedule only after the fire that burnt the airport.... If it wasn't for the fire, all this will probably still be just talk and dreams which were never going to come to reality

You're not boring us at all, I think we need more of these to show what can be done when leaders get serious. This started in 2013, this is for all those that talk crap about it can't be done overnight. Then it'll also help us to know how much has been spent.

When you say burn our airports, I think you still give us a lot of credit. I think you think our problem is inaction, not its not. Our problem is corruption, dishonesty, greed. A lot has been put into these airports that have been ranked among the worst in Africa. A lot of money has been poured into it and yet we can't boast of good toilet. The cost of the whole terminal 1A is US$72.3 million (Kshs6.3 billion), that's might be quite a bit according to Kenyan standards since our GDP is only US$55 Billion and government expenditure is only US$20 Billion. By Nigerian starndards, with 72.3 million dollars, you wont even feel a pinch. in Addition, the cost of the furniture and interior design of the two lounges (Simba and Pride lounge) cost only about 2 million.

Do you even understand that Nigeria is only federal republic in name, that Nigeria practices a worst form of unitary govt in place of federal system? Face reality, accros a wide Nigeria, your Federal govt of Nigeria comprising a few persons in charge in Abuja, can never build and maintain the type of infrastructures you expect, even if Oyel money tripples. But love for Oyel money will never allow your lot to vote for Fiscal federalism and regional govt system returned to Nigeria. Fiscal federalism with regional govt system is only system of govt that can enable the building of glittering infrastructures like the ones you show from other countries. So long as Oyel money gets Nigeria stuck with unitary govt system, yo have to continue to bring us pix from other functional countries for comparison with Nigeria's whose people refruse to embrace a suitable political system.

Not Hating or anything - What you guys need to do is burn your airports!!!! Kenya doesn't have any airport ranked in either among the best or the worst in that list. If anyone can recall the fire that gutted part of the JKIA airport in Nairobi that forced the government to create a temporary tent and use a parking garage as an international arrival terminal- that was probably the lowest the airport service has ever gone, Arriving in a country in a plane where the arrival terminal is a tent!! But Looking back now, it was probably the best thing that happened to that airport, delayed mordarnization projects were forced to be fast tracked and as of June this year, The 1st quater of the terminal complete and is completely amazing. After the terminal will be complete, and the new green terminal built from scratch which will be completed in 2018, Not even South Africa will come close.

Problem here is that people build one structure and celebrate as if the country is awash with those structures. Look here in SA, we got quite a few that meet international standards. Even smaller airports like East London, KMIA etc are far better than some main airports in Africa. So you need to take care when you want to post negatively about SA. Else, you may find yourself with egg on your face.

Dude please educate me. Look the truth is I'm not impressed with our present government and I don't hide it. If I see what they've done, believe me I'll commend them. You say I'm saying what I think I know, look at my posts and you'll see I write from what I know.

December, I arrived to a hot airport and leaky roofs. Long lines with an express line for non-citizens (its the other way around in other countries but oh well). Bribe being asked from every corner you turn but that's ok. Getting out of the parking lot was a nightmare with potholes all around the PARKING LOT, as in parking lot, a PAID PARKING LOT. I went back to the airport to drop wifey in January still hot, went back in May to pick her up, still hot she had a worse experience this time around maybe because she was travelling alone with a baby but thats ok. 2 weeks ago my friend came in and still mentioned the leaky roofs at arrival. Couple of days after went to drop off wifey at the airport again, airport still hot. In December, I'm going go through this again this time it'll be me experiencing the departure and arrival myself, if anything has changed I'll update you.

In situations like this you mention the airport and create the awareness. However, if there is an effort to fix the already bad situation, please also spread the news. That is how to be balanced.
