The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Aminu Tambuwal, has opposed the insinuation calling for a postponement of next year’s general election.

He spoke in Kaduna State, on Sunday, shortly after he was screened and issued a certificate of clearance by the All Progressives Congress screening committee.

Tambuwal was screened and cleared along with the Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari, among the 15 governorship aspirants by the North-West geopolitical zone of the party.

The Speaker told journalists that he was opposed to postponing the 2015 general elections beyond February 2015 as stipulated by the nation’s electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission, because of the insecurity.

He said after all, elections were being held in war-torn countries like Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq and wondered why the reverse would be the case in Nigeria.

He argued that all that was needed is for the Federal Government to addressed the issue of insecurity before the February 2015 elections in the country.

According to him, there was no reason whatsoever for anybody to cancel the forthcoming election, adding that those charged with the responsibility of protecting lives and property of Nigerians should be up and doing.

I dont know the source of his information but INEC should be allowed to do whatever is in the interest of all Nigerians. The commission is an independent body cum umpire.

It is likely that the elections might be postponed from the look of things. Aside the insurgency which is a major reason why the elections might be postponed,I don't even think INEC is ready for the elections when you look at the problems associated with the PVC distribution and registration.

truefact:
South Yemen is fighting for independence from the North. ..what are the eastern and southern Nigeria waiting for? Igbo has no similarity with the Yoruba and Hausa...

And why are the Yoruba not campaigning and propaganding for the expulsion of the East and South from Nigeria so that Buhari will be their president?
What a hypocrisy? Slave always a slaves. ..stand for something Yoruba and stand firm, hate someone, simply separate him/her/them ..shame.

Fear North

Na wah for you ooo
