A CHILD NOT A BRIDE

I lost my childhood, my dignity, my pride
all on d altar of marriage,
I was now a wife, a woman
so I was told.
'He is ur lord' said my mother
'Respect him & his needs' said my father
With pomp & pageantry, I was taken,
to my new home, a place of uncertainty.

How I wish 2 once again play unhindered,
but dat was not 2 be,
I was now a wife , a woman
so I was told.
Stayed indoors, waiting for my husband,
to take his marital rights, but how can I take all of him?
Cry I did, plead I dis, but no one cared.

At school my heart was, to learn I yearned,
A doctor I dreamed 2 be,a lawyer I dreamed 2 be,
But here I was but a child bride.
How I longed 2 be a free woman,
How I longed 2 live my dreams,
How I wished to be educated,
But I was now a Wife, a woman
so I was told.

With every push, tears fill my eyes,
with every thrust, pain fill my heart,
with every touch, I loathe him more
But I was now a Wife, a woman,
So I yielded 2 his every desires.
With every yielding of mine,
Went shattered dreams of mine,
Leaving in it wake, a sore & painful future.

Who will tell him dat a child I was, not a bride.
Who will rescue me frm dis nightmare?
Who will free me frm dis bondage ?
I am a CHILD, REAR me not MARRY me.

How i wish someone can stand up for her, she's just 2 young to go through this. Human right activist should do something. The law law can punish her in another form but definetly not death. Hope someone will go to her rescue from untimely death.
