The stray cat’s green appearance had left locals in one seaside town a little confused.


It’s hard to miss a bright green cat sauntering down the street and this feline is certainly no exception.

The unusually coloured moggy has been spotted on the streets of the Black Sea resort of Varna, Bulgaria, in recent weeks.

Many locals assumed a vandal had painted the stray cat green, with a Facebook page even being set up to catch the person responsible.

But it appears there is a more innocent explanation for the cat’s curious appearance, primarily where the animal has been spending most of its time.

It was discovered the feline has been sleeping on an abandoned heap of synthetic green paint in a garage and coming out to scare locals during the day.
