How much fluids should one drink on a daily basis? how much water should i drink?
This is a question that pops up every now and then because drinking water is of great importance for a good health. The answer to this question can vary from individual to individual. Still, there are a few guidelines that can ensure you that you drink enough water every day.
There are many studies based on this question and the results are different in many of them. The daily need of water may depend on many factors, among which is the health condition of the person, the place of living and the physical activity.
As mentioned before, the amount of water one should drink every day is not the same for everyone. However, you can know more about the amount of water you should drink if you know more about your body’s need for fluids.

If one doesn’t drink enough water, the body may dehydrate which can lead to exhaustion and lack of energy. This means that drinking water benefits you in ways that maintain your energy levels and helping your organs to function properly.
How much water is essential for the body to function well?

Based on many studies the Institute of Medicine concluded that the Adequate Intake (AI) for women is about2 liters, or around 8 to 9 cups, and the AI for men is around 3 liters, or 13 cups a day.
Is drinking 8 glasses of water a day enough?
This is a well known advice, but does it apply to everyone. Eight glasses of water is more or less 2 liters, which is the recommended amount for women by the Institute of Medicine. However, this rule isn’t based on hard evidence, but at least it is easy to remember. No matter what the measurements and numbers are, it is important to remember that, all fluid intake should count, not just the cups of water.
