Sportiello with an important save to deny Longstaff

Fulltime Milan 0-0 Newcastle

We just couldn't put the ball in the back of the net. We created so many chances but to score na wahala.

Every game day na new problem.. Last game na defense, today na attack. We totally dominated Newcastle but couldn’t score.

I don't know what to make of our defensive performance yesterday tbh. Is Tomori that important to our Defence and does His absence leave that much of a glaring hole or rather is it that Inter's offense is in a different stratosphere from Newcastle's?

That Milan derby performance seems to have waken this team. Pioli is unleashing speed upfront with Chukwueze/ Okafor/ Leao. I thoroughly enjoyed todays game, it was professional as it gets. The loss against Inter did a number on me.. so I just dey respect myself..

Guess who is leading the pack!!!

Pioli, I take God beg you, please do not start Kjaer on Wednesday against BVB for any reason. Man looked horrible again today and gave me palpitations every time Lazio ran towards him.

Leao is such a special player. This season we are seeing an evolution as a play maker.

Aunty Spa...bot send me go sanko yesterday. Once again, we struggled to score in a game we dominated for the most part. We missed some good chances..Giroud e no go better for you oh for that chance u missed. I know Pioli is trying to rotate the squad but it is time to start N. Okafor. The coming month is going to be tough for us and will determine a lot for us on both fronts (League & UCL). We need to beat Genoa because I expect Inter to beat Bologna at home.

Oct 7 V Genoa
Oct 22 V Juventus
Oct 25 V PSG
Oct 29 V Napoli
Nov 4 V Udinese
Nov 7 V PSG

Delighted with Today's result and our fantastic start to the serie a season. Looks like the bollocking we got at the hands of Inter was nothing but a minor blip or should I say I am hoping it was. Our next game is versus Juve so we would know more about where this team stands after that game. Disappointed with Mike's red card as none of the other keepers instill any level of confidence in me.

The only drawback this season has been our performance in the CL. I mean I knew it would be tough having be drawn in the group of death but we've been disappointing thus far. We have to win atleast one of our next two games vs PSG(perfect scenario will be 6 points but 4 points will do just fine)as I don't see us making it out of the groups if the best result we get from the next 2 games are draws.

FORZA MILAN!

This was a keenly contested physical game and I am glad we did the classic “smash and grab” with Pulisic’s late winner. Stadio Luigi is such a difficult place to play but the lads fought through without conceding.

Adli’s development and confidence continues to impress me and I love how Pioli is utilizing him. He still has a lot to learn but he is rewarding Pioli’s decision not to send out on loan.

Mike Maignan is definitely one of the best hands in Europe, hands down! Man made a terrific save despite the attempt being deflected to keep us ahead. We will miss him against Juventus and that will be consequential because Sportiello has disappointed as Mike’s back up.

The annoying part of our UCL is that we dominated both games but couldn’t find the back of the net! I couldn’t believe my eyes with Giroud’s miss against BVB, I nearly cry! Like you said, we need all 3 points against PSG. I will be heartbroken if we don’t qualify from this group because we have not been outplayed in any of our games.

On this day in 2019, after going through a litany of former players as coaches, we hired S. Pioli and man has been an absolute beast in resurrecting the club. Since 2019, we have won the league, returned to Europe, become competitive in Europe/ Serie A.

Derby D'Italia is tomorrow. We are in a good form and this is going to be our biggest test after the horrible showing against Inter.

We will be without Theo and Maignan who are bot suspended while Bennacer and Chukweze are out injured. The goalkeeping situation is also a tricky one because backup goalie Sportiello is also out. I expect to see Mirante inbetween the sticks.

Re: The AC Milan Thread: 2021/2022 Serie A Champions! by Roland17(m): 7:59pm On Oct 22, 2023
Strong start for us as we have held the bulk of the possession. Juventus are playing a back 3, hopefully we can force their CBs wide.

Leao is enjoying a lot of possession on the left. He is attracting 2 players every time he gets the ball.
Re: The AC Milan Thread: 2021/2022 Serie A Champions! by Roland17(m): 8:23pm On Oct 22, 2023
We need to start crashing good scoring chances. Juve are staying compact and refusing to press

Thiaw gets a red for a silly challenge. He did not need to be tight on Keane. Keane beat him clearly there..
Re: The AC Milan Thread: 2021/2022 Serie A Champions! by Roland17(m): 8:30pm On Oct 22, 2023
This is so annoying. We were in total control of the game until Thiaw makes a stupid and rash decision.

Pulisic is sacrificed as Kalulu comes in .
