The Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose has accused former President Olusegun
Obasanjo of being a member of the opposition party, All Progressives Congress
(APC).
Fayose stated this while demanding that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
suspends Obasanjo for alleged anti-party activities.
The governor reportedly stated this while speaking to journalists in Ado Ekiti on
Friday, December 5.
Fayose also spoke on the recent visit by five PDP governors to Obasanjo saying
that it was a waste of time as the former President was determined to
undermine President Goodluck Jonathan.
“A man who has refused to respect the office of the President of Nigeria that
he once occupied does not also deserve respect from anyone,” Fayose said.
“Have you ever heard a former president of the United States of America (USA)
openly abusing a sitting president of the country? Does it mean that former USA
president, Bill Clinton agreed with all the policies of George W. Bush and the
incumbent president, Barack Obama?”
“Obasanjo is behaving unpresidentially and he must be told to respect himself,” he
added.
Fayose also said that Obasanjo, a chieftain of the PDP, had already switched sides
and become a member of the opposition.
“Obasanjo is a man who can never be pleased. His principle of life is; if it is not
his way, it must not be another person’s way. Even if President Jonathan gives
Obasanjo his blood today, he (Obasanjo) cannot change because he is already
neckdeep in the APC agenda, with his eyes on the vice presidential ticket of the
party,” he said.
“Therefore, no amount of visits by PDP governors can make him change his mind
about President Jonathan, whom he hates not because he has not performed,
but because he (Jonathan) did not hand over his presidency to him,” Fayose
concluded.
Obasanjo had earlier criticized Jonathan for encouraging corruption » but
Fayose came after the former President saying that he had no right to attack
the incumbent. »

At his age and for what he has achieved I think it is easier for OBJ to operate in the background of partisan politics without anyone knowing where his allegiance lies. Well, you make your bed and you lie in it. Rather than face the business of Governing Ekiti, Fayose is always to be found acting as the campaign manager for GEJ. It is ludicrous and Nigerians, whatever Party they support, should condemn this behaviour because we all live in States that need effective leadership and not in Aso Rock. Fayose should face the affairs of Ekiti squarely if indeed he has anything to offer the good folks of the State.

saTANs would always say opposite. Obj since 1977 till date has had a hand in the coup and elections or was aware of governments who took power. that was why I used the word “if”. One thing is 95% certain ,obj will remain a “card carrying member” of pdp. Because only a party of pdp size,power and magnitude can accomodate a person like obj. Although his party loyalty can be a subject of suspicion or debate .obj just wants to call the shots and the major grouse obj has against gej has got nothing to do with corruption or gej handling of the nation.but it is because buruji kashamu,by putting kashamu as the south west patron of pdp,and the refusal of gej to remove him from that post despite obj objections indicates the fact that gej is ready to go on without obj. If kashamu is removed today according to the wishes of obj , and obj is given the power to chose someone to replace him,the following morning obj will be the first to tell nigerians to give gej another chance that he is trying his best.
