Today we read about another prison break in Minna, Niger State barely a week after another in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State.

We have jailbreak in Kotonkarfe, kogi, Gombe, Borno, Yobe, Bauchi, Adamawa, Taraba etc. making it the Government with the highest cases of jailbreak since Nigeria wad created.

Today own is even significant based on the fact the prez just sacked and replaced the comptroller general of prisons.

The import of this is the threat to National Security when you have murderers, rapists, kidnappers and ritualists on the prowl walking free and have nothing to lose than to do more havoc and do anything to avoid being recaptured. You can bet they won't hesitate to join up with the league of Terrorists already spreading deaths and terror across the country.

The government need to really gear up to its responsibilities to protect lives and properties, it is even baffling when the prison officials and the police have not gone on the airwaves and the media to post pictures and details of the excaped prisoners hence they can easily mix up with larger society.

This government seems underestimating the import of its prisons being easy targets for Boko Haram and the worst of it is the seemingly laxity and inaction of the Police and other concerned agencies from splashing pictures of these people on National television and print media.

God only can help Nigeria and protect it from the kind of leadership running the affairs of the nation at present.
