I wuld be the last person to buy naija films. I used to love village films and some action films as well, but since Nollywood chose to deviate from those kind of movies I stopped buying even dia pirated copies not to talk of d original

Dear, ur criticism is constructive. Buh I wud like to remind u dt in as much as d movie itself its objective is entertaining, educating n informing, d sole aim of d producers as well is to maximize profit, whch is money making, like evry oda bsnss man. So dia ar going 4 d trend, whch is wot d people want to watch. Believe it or not. A cover photo of any cd plate dt shows a lady wearing only bra n pant will attract people's attention to buy n check it out dan d one jst showing moda mary type. U also summed it up by citing spartacus as an example. In reaction to wot u said abt Chinwetalu Agu. His constant repitition of a particular line for me, its interesting, he has made dt style his signature. N he does it vry well. Dts articulative.

I think Nollywood has focused more attention on Studio based movies which fetch them more doe giving that it stays on cinema for long before being distributed as home movies. This is a great move as it brings us nearer to Hollywood but then, let them not forget that home movies are what many people down the street still regard as Nollywood. I think every aspect of the industry should be checked well.

Meanwhile, I am not completely against the amorous movies. We want to be like Hollywood, right? Well, here is what it comes with. Hollywood is known for all kinds of movies; the good, the bad and the ugly. If we must be like them, we must make some sacrifices. Moreover, every movie has a targeted audience. If you come across one you do not like, simply pass by. You must not see them. It's hypocritical to see these movies and still come here to criticise them. In fact, we are the ones making these movies cause if we do not buy such, they would have long stopped producing them. But our hypocrisy in Nigeria will not allow us take quality decisions.

So sad really, was watching a jim iyke/ Rita Dominic movie yesterday until all of a sudden, jim iyke was ripping off a lady's clothes and they began doing 'it' and jim Iykes a'ss was bare and all.

I was mortified for a few seconds before recovering myself to switch off the tv cos my five year old was in the room although she wasn't even watching the screen.

I was too stunned to Continue to movie sef. We didn't need to see all that and with Jim Iyke of all the respected actors. We are indeed losing our morals.

Many of nollywood movie writers, producers and actors have no business being in the industry . The influx of new entrants was caused by high unemployment in the country. Just like our politicians, they are in the industry not to deliver value but for money making as allowed by the weaknesses of our systems and structures

This is terrible.
And aside producing indecent movies. There r too many runs babes in Nollywood today. Some can't even act. Some can't speak good English. Rubbish directors. Producers r wack. Everything is disgusting.
Imagine some runs girl looking 4 ways to b popular n d next thought is movie making or acting. Some just rush to produce believing they get back their money during d premier . This is absurd.
They ve no tym 4 editing. No tym to check correct spellings n also grammatical errors in subtitles.. oh yoruba movies r guilty of this one.
It's terrible. The rate of naked bodies n sex in movies today r puking.
Imagine our present n future generations entertaining themselves with this, how do u think the world would b?
That's one huge reason y u se some of our Girls after money in a way that is unexplainable by d wise themselves, n some of our guys think sex n fast money.

Hipocrisy is when you buy a vid cause of it's nude cover, watch it and you take out time to write balderdash in the name of criticism, if y'all are seeking for a decent movie, why not stick to those church made(mount zion) movies??
And thankGod all them movies have got the 18plus warning in it, but mofo will still buy it and later talk nonsense, which culture are we even trying to portrai to be decent?? African culture was never decent, atleast if we must talk culture, we begin from it's root, when men and women live naked

An English actor ( Benjamin Joseph ) and a yoruba actress ( toyin aimhaku) including the nollywood icon ( old Jacobs ) were interviewed on an interactive programme called "seriously speaking" a few months back and they talked about the division in the industry which has led to so many things. undecided
i think it's this division and also the inability of the censor board to screen movies thoroughly before they can be produced and released in the market. #corruption wink when the officials collect bribe( egunje ) they forget about how detrimental those films can be to the society cheesy and whereas FG makes a lot of money from that sector as you can see it is a revenue generating sector in the country grin
that is why we must have an anti-corrupt mind and attitude wink

Hmmmmmmmm..... Some say they don't care abt d unclothedness but d msg in d movie. D world has gone bongos on sexual perversion. D Ghanaians most esp started d introduction of more sexual scenes dan usual. They boast in their stupidity of nude displays. God help us but d world has turned upside down esp with d signature of Obama on homosexuality, lesbianism, bestiality, abortion and all sort of evil against d sanity of humans.

God help humanity esp in dis perilous time. May we not be found wanting wen d trumpet sounds. But be warned to those hypocrites who condemn unclad displays in d movies but engage in porn movies. Let's be transparent in all.

God have mercy!!!!

people be complaining yet their movies are selling like craze

I don't care if they show indecency or whareva, what is annoying me is that they don't display good messages/themes
Re: The Decadence In Nollywood by Wolexdey(m): 11:58am On Dec 12, 2014
Yet the society keeps complaining about issues of rape wen its exactly d Nigerian movies helping them to indulge in such acts...

A big shame to all d actors, actresses and producers of dis evil act who keeps polluting d minds of the young ones.

People should also be more sensitive and better disciplined.

If you don't know God, the devil will show you that he is a master deceiver.

i believe part of the role of the Nigerian video and film censor board (NVFCB) is to review, rate and categorize these movies. bt in reality, they are only after generating revenue. they dont even watch some of the movies they claim to censor.
