Prophecy: Telling the future in advance. So what is prophetic about this detail? Whose future? Read your bible and see examples of prophecies. E.g. The Messiah will be born in Bethlehem Ephratah. That is a prophesy. These are akin to 'A club will win the world cup. Someone will get a job next year, etc'

I repeat again, simplified. Prophesies are made by the ability and will of the speaker while in predictions the speaker is observing events he has no control off.

When Jesus was asked when He will return He said He did not know. He could not 'predict' it because the events leading up to it are not in His control but to God, He has prophesied that Jesus will return because He has the power to and has set the events of the end time in motion.

As humans alone we can only predict, we cannot prophesy. We have little power to influence events. Anyone claiming to foretell events is only doing so through mediums that have the powers to influence events. So if I tell you a plane will crash I have the ability and will to crash that plane.

The bible is an expository of the will and power of God.

I often hear this in Christian circles and I view the discordant principles with respect to the old and new testaments. In the old testament God did a lot of 'offensive' work while in the new testament because of Jesus God saves the 'individual'.

Believe me God doesn't know and doesn't care how many planes satan intends to crash but He provides comprehensive cover for 'whosoever' wishes as contained in prophesies.

To be honest the greater your faith in His Word the less you have to worry about what Satan is doing. That is God's mentality.

Our prayers as maturing Christians should be, let thy will be done as opposed to prayers of fear at potential satanic attacks.
