Cut off points (Quota admission) into the 104 Federal Government Colleges “Unity Schools”. Please, kindly check out the bizarre disparity in cut off points (quota admission) into the 104 Federal Government Colleges (FGCs) aka “Unity Schools”. It was published in January,2013, by the Federal Ministry of Education under the careful supervision of Prof. Ruqayyah Ahmed Rufa’i - a “once upon a time” Minister of Education from the North. Note the disparity between cut off point for southern and northern students. • Abia Male(130) Female (130) • AkwaIbom Male(123), Female (123) • Anambra Male(139) Female (139) • Benue Male (111), Female (111) • Bayelsa Male (72), Female (72) • CrossRivers Male (97), Female (97) • Delta Male (131), Female (131) • Ebonyi Male (112), Female (112) • Edo Male (127), Female (127) • Ekiti Male (119), Female (119) • Enugu Male (134), Female (1340 • Imo Male (138), Female (138) • Kogi Male (119), Female (119) • Kwara Male (123), Female (123) • Lagos Male (133), Female (133) • Ogun Male (131), Female (131) • Ondo Male (126), Female (126) • Rivers Male (118), Female (118) • Osun Male (127), Female (127) • Oyo Male (127), Female (127) • Plateau Male (97), Female (97) • Yobe Male (20), Female (27) • FCTAbuja Male (90), Female (90) • Kaduna Male (91), Female (91) • Nasarawa Male (58), Female 58) • Niger Male (93), Female (93) • Kano Male (67), Female (67) • Katsina Male (60), Female (60) • Adamawa Male (62) Female (62) • Borno Male (45), Female (45) • Gombe Male (58), Female (58) • Jigawa Male(44), Female (44) • Bauchi Male (35), Female (35) • Kebbi Male (9), Female (20) • Sokoto Male (9), Female (13) • Taraba Male (3), Female (11) • Zamfara Male (4), Female (2) Source: Published in January,2013, by the Federal Ministry of Education under the careful supervision of Prof. Ruqayyat Ahmed Rufai Do we have equity and justice in Nigeria or the North is just cheating the rest of us in the name of "Wan Naijeriya"? 3 Likes |

Some people never reason before they jump to conclusion. Yes the cut off point is low but non-interest in education and a serious, aggressive reduction in the population of states in the north is surely one of the most shameless achievements of the Jonathan presidency. If thousands of people have been killed, mostly the young or weak that cannot flee, or have no money to relocate themselves, what is the point of setting a high cut off mark for students that do not exist? Practically, the government wants to admit everyone they can find in that state because otherwise, there will be no students to occupy the school anyway. More than 5 months ago, more than 300 girls were kidnapped in a school under the watch of the clueless, corrupt and utterly daf.t presidency of the Otuekwe president. What was his reaction or response for the first 6 weeks or more? Denial. Castigating the students and blaming them for being allowed to be kidnapped. Why should they go to school and leave themself open to be kidnapped? Months later, after public opprobrium, GEJ started making weak moves for which there is less than 0 results to show for the more than an N 1 Tr spent to fight BH. In fact, BH has overwhelmed Jonathan that he never talks about them again and no one pays him any attention when he mouths off his mumbo-jumbo. So why would anyone want to go to school in those states and what is the use of setting a cut off point for say 10 prospective students when there is space for 50 or 60? Of those 10 some would rather go and school in a private school or in another state of stay at home totally because they know that this government has failed to protect them, their parents and friends who are now most certainly dead or ruined for life. The question would be why has GEJ not turned Nigeria and those states into a secure state that even if they do not live in the opulence of Aso Rock, the security of their life and property is 100% guaranteed by the government? Jonathan has been president for more than 6 years, VP for about 2 years. What is the trend line of insecurity, terror, official and high corruption? It is going through the roof and has never been worse since the beginning of time. That is the reason why inspite of a cut off of 2, there may still be less than 2 students who will want to attend a school of be in an environment where they are just sitting ducks. They reason: what is the point of going to this school with a cut off of 0 only to be kidnapped and killed before any chance to even finish 2 years of this inept and cluelessly wicked Jonathan! 1 Like |

Nigeria is what it is, a practical jungle. How does lack of interest to engage in formal education in one state relatively determines the interests of others in another state? If Nigeria is actually a “One-Nigeria” as goofy jackasses will assume, there should be no need for any “quota admission”. 11 Likes |

@Sloan,why are you blaming GEJ for that lopsided admission criteria? This has been in existence before GEJ came to power, just that people are now asking more questions hence we are more privileged to get this information. 9 Likes |

You guys don't deserve a better country. From the ones defending this bold faced evil to the ones who just sit on their ass and complain online and in beer parlours. All of you are fully complicit in the wicked contraption which Nigeria is on some levels. This could be a much better country but you all are the ones killing it. Those "leaders" didn't migrate from Chad (well most of them anyway) - they're Nigerians just like you who do the same hare-brained, tribalistic nonsense you do on a daily basis but on the level they find themselves. You are all just as bad as them and will even do worse if you find yourself there. It's not them that are my enemies, it's YOU. Bleep all of you. 2 Likes |

Sloan:Sorry I have to quote your long post. What are you saying? That GEJ does not care about the North? I think you are not being sincere. GEJ has built over 100 Almajiri schools in the North. He has also established Federal Universities in Lafia, Nasarawa state; Kashere, Gombe state, Wukari, Taraba state; Dutsin-Ma, Katsina state; Dutse, Jigawa state; Gashua, Yobe State; Birnin Kebbi Kebbi State capital and Federal l University Gusau, Zamfara State. Now tell me, how many Almajiri schools and universities have been estabblished by past leaders in the North? Honestly, GEJ has done much for the North than the northern leaders. The Northern leaders do not care about the education of the almajiris since they use them asready tools of violence. 11 Likes |

The fact of the matter is, 99% of those who are admitted into these colleges successfully complete the program. These cut off points are designed to remove the prejudices built into the process. How many people from Zamfara participate in the design of the exams? |

Sloan:. What trash are you saying pls GEJ is the reason why North is in stark illiteracy? Pls don't open ur mouth to say trash Go and research Google and old pple, library is ur friend When Awolowo of blessed memory was using proceeds from Coco to educate SW, North are busy flexing their muscle against other ethnic group just because they want to rule Since wen North has been in power which government has done what GEJ has done in North educational sector... He wanted to build standard schools they said no... He gave them almajiris (that teaches maths, chemistry, biology nd others) schools, gave them agricultural schools, gave them universities Is this not 1of d reasons why they have been attacking his government, wasting their present and future glories when they realise that with the steps he is taking... Their children will be enlightened, they will ask questions, they will start questioning. Their barbaric way of life, what human rights really is:they will knw Even Northerners claim he did his best Moreover is it only GEJ that u elect The gov doesn't have his own blame right If GEJ is indeed interested in ruining North he won't have bother to waste money on projects that won't be useful Weda u like it or not if Northerners leaders keep hating him at his of their pple they will soon use their hands to cure 1 of Nigeria problems... Which is the North 7 Likes |

Sloan: Mr Sloan, You got it wrong this time around. Their selfish and useless leaders are responsible for their predicaments not GEJ. What else do they Northerners want from Jonathan? He gave them juicy positions in his administration, he built almajiri schools etc etc. Their leaders fvcked them up not Jonathan's fault at all. God forgive me, we are not supposed to be living in the same country with those dudes. They rules for 39years and they set Nigeria back by 100years. They have the highest number of Billionaires yet their people are mostly illiterates and paupers. Na Wah Oooooooo. 2 Likes |

It should be uniform across all the states. If you want to go to school, you have to put in the required effort. Enough of all this already. The child passing the 139 cutoff and the one going to school by scoring 4 did not come to this world with different heads. |
